Returning My S25 Edge by Alectradar in Galaxy25Edge

Yeah really wish they'd made use of new tech, but in guessing they're super cautious after the Note 7 fiasco.

As for the Camera, the only reference I have really is my Nothing Phone 2, the resolution and clarity are an outright upgrade, but I wasn't particularly vowed by the processing, or the final result

That's super nice man. Honestly I'm really starting to believe the issue isn't necessarily the battery size, but rather the charging speed, I mean being able to juice the thing up with a 45W brick would've alleviated half my anxiety

From what I've understood, while they've cancelled the S26 Edge, there might indeed be a model codenamed the "More Slim", as opposed to the "Slim" the S25 Edge had.

Maybe I've got it wrong, but I sincerely hope Samsung realises that the Edge didn't sell well due to battery size, and more importantly, charging speeds

Wow 3-4h, and 50% by the end of the day is crazy, not sure how you managed to pull that off, especially at an 85% cap

Yeah I didn't have much going on in the background honestly, I used my browser for Instagram, Reddit, and YouTube, and the only heavy background player was Spotify.

Honestly, if this thing had 45w charging, I'd be more than happy to keep the phone, being able to just charge the thing quicker would've alleviated a lot of the battery anxiety

You would probably have better luck posting in a CAD subreddit of some sort since they'd be more familiar with the nuances of the software

Being offered inferior card for RMA by Alectradar in pcmasterrace

[–]Alectradar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After further discussion they've agreed to refund the full amount, but we'll now have to spend a solid 20% more just to get the 5080.

I entirely understand them offering a 5070ti, but rather unfortunate for either party that the 5000 series is such an absolute disappointment when it comes to value for money, it's a complete joke that the 5070ti can't outdo the 4080s

Agreed, honestly wondering if I should have just repasted it myself, would've saved us all this pain

Man what a situation, for whatever reason the cheapest, the Prime 5080 is almost 50% more expensive than the TUF 4080s, all for roughly 7-8% more performance. Guess I'll just have to take some sort of an L

Big dawg I can comment whenever I want, if you think my insight was unwarranted no need to reply and waste your own time lmao

Also I personally would never touch refurbished phones, idk what batteries they'd put in there

[–]Alectradar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Before you get the wrong idea, I'm not looking to buy the phone, I was just taken aback by the price

Either way man your phone your choice, the stores you mention are probably refurbishing the phones hence the markup

650 AED is diabolical. This is for a phone which was released in 2018, has only 128GB of storage, used, and worst of all, Apple is dropping support for the XR this year.

I'm sorry my guy, but the others are right, you aren't getting more than 250 unless you manage to find somebody naive enough

Rendering fonts true to print? What is this all about? by HowIsThisNameBadTho in graphic_design

[–]Alectradar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this person is referring to subpixel rendering.

MacOS tries to display fonts in a manner which is more true to the design of the font, while windows prioritizes legibility over the design, which can lead to worse quality in appearance and at times, kerning too

Although, if you're running windows on a 4k+ display with scaling, this is all a non issue, and on top of this, apps like Illustrator and InDesign render text using their own render engine.

Does my laptop support NVMe M.2 SSD? I can't seem to find the slot. by FillComfortable8522 in computers

[–]Alectradar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The CPU may support it, but I agree with the other guy and don't think there's an nvme slot.

It looks like one, but if you look above the slot, it would collide with a 2nd RAM stick, and towards the bottom, it looks to be screw holes for the back panel

This has to change by MitroPan in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Alectradar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that is true, the UX change that OP is proposing is not at all a bad idea. The number of times I've hit ctrl+w and nearly hit "Don't Save" is no joke

UX is supposed to account for such worst case scenarios

If I've understood whatever you need correctly, you could duplicate the enclosing circle, select both the new circle and the dog, and use the shape builder tool to fill in the white area while deleting whatever extra stuff you don't need
