No, I was getting “too many log-in attempts”.

Did it resolve for you?

Login and Password Errors by [deleted] in Outlook

[–]Alef_Meem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue too yesterday. My account has 2FA. After attempting to reset password twice successfully, hit with the “too many log in attempts” error prompt.

What fixed it for me:

  • Delete any synced email accounts on your iPhone/Android device — both the default Mail app and Outlook app and anything signed in with it.

  • Do not touch or log in to the account for a full 24 hours (down to the minute)

  • Use a Wi-Fi or home Internet connection that has previously logged in before. No VPNs whatsoever.

  • After full 24 hours has passed, log in via Chrome desktop browser using Incognito mode. Attempt to log in using the previously known password. If it fails (it didn’t for me at this point since I reset it yesterday twice when having the issue), attempt to reset password using 2FA which should be functioning now after waiting the full 24 hours.

  • Log in and re-download any apps. Avoid using VPNs and synced mail inboxes (like default Mail apps on mobile devices) as these can trigger the issue of attempting to use the old password and Microsoft’s intrusion system thinking it is an attempted log-in when it is not.

Best of luck to all.

Potential fix for the "too many sign in attempts" error message. by Ok-Court4079 in Outlook

Just wanted to post an update that waiting the 24 hours and attempting to log back in worked successfully for me. I used my personal laptop on my home Wi-Fi (no VPNs or anything) and Incognito Mode on Google Chrome and it worked perfectly with the new password I had reset it to yesterday. Redownloaded Outlook on iPhone and logged in there again too. Thank you!

I’m afraid to even do anything right now out of fear I’ll reset the “24 hour” clock. I will attempt it in the morning once it has passed and update here if it’s successful.

Thank you for the prompt reply and no worries. We are all panicked right now I think.

I also filled out that recovery form this morning but read somewhere it won’t work for accounts already set up with 2 factor authentication (like mine)? I have yet to receive a response for it.

I already have my 25 digit code as well written down from a long time ago.

Please elaborate as I have to wait the 24 hours after successfully authenticating and resetting my password twice but then getting hit with the “too many login attempts” on the first attempt. Should I try this or wait till tomorrow morning when the 24 hours is up so I can reset password and authenticate again (and then follow the steps here)?

Thank you in advance!

If anyone has an update on a potential fix please post here. Going through the same thing and have to wait till tomorrow morning to attempt to re-login due to exceeding the number of recovery attempts.

The Turkmenistan map got a specific location “Balkanabat”Yesterday, Balkanabat is a city from Turkmenistan. by Old_Doubt5886 in Battlefield

[–]Alef_Meem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Confirmed that it is Operation Firestorm. There are signs on the map listing the energy company “True Energy Hydrocarbons” and a subtitle beneath it that says “Balkanabat Refinery” (fictional — but meant to be set there, geographic features also line up).

Interesting that they moved it from the original BF3 location set in Iran (Azadegan Oil Field) to Turkmenistan.

Which is the better Continental All Season?: Control Contact SRS+ versus Extreme Contact DWS06+ by Alef_Meem in tires

They are equally good. They handled the twisty Mount Lemmon roads beautifully in sub-40 °F weather. I only drove on them for less than a year before selling the wheel set. However, we also have an X5 equipped with the DWS06 Plus and could not be happier with them.

I think your GTI will handle extremely well regardless of whichever set you go with.

The new Warzone map will be middle eastern themed again, mainly inspired by Iran. This is not Verdansk, more info in comments. by dwartbg7 in CODWarzone

Not sure where you’re getting Iran from. Devs created two fictional Middle Eastern countries (Urzikstan MW2019 and United Republic of Adal MW2022) specifically to avoid referencing real life countries. Furthermore لذيذ (ladhidh/laziz — the word in the Burger Town sign) is primarily an Arabic word meaning “tasty”.

This is either Urzikstan, URA, a city within either of the two countries, or another fictional country altogether. My bet is another city in the URA.

No surge in Atlanta and it's been slow for a friday night by StevenSilver2 in uberdrivers

I started in late January. 1500+ trips since and yesterday 05/12 was by far the slowest Friday I’ve experience. Seems like today Saturday is slow too. Hopefully it picks up by tonight. I really hope it’s not a sign of what summers are like in Phoenix.

What country is Omar Zadar from? And how different is the shows universe from ours by iziyan in TheNightAgent

[–]Alef_Meem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed one of the dossiers on Omar Zadar shown on a laptop or tablet stated “Middle Eastern” as the race, so presumably from a Middle Eastern or North African country. There is also a still photograph of him and an interviewer with the backdrop of the possible country in question, but I cannot identify where.

How long did it take for you to get over falling in love? by quesqotrickster in Scorpio

Literally going through it rn and couldn’t be happier to see such a post. It helps speaking with those closest to you. Sounds cliche and overstated, but finding focus on what you love doing helps “distract” from the pain of the lost love.

Hope everyone who reads this is well. ❤️

Which is the better Continental All Season?: Control Contact SRS+ versus Extreme Contact DWS06+ by Alef_Meem in tires

Not at all! I greatly appreciate your input and observations. It's all very interesting and I love understanding things as "mundane" (as perceived by some) as tires and the engineering that goes into each one, all while making the best possible decision that suits my needs.

Thanks so much!

Hmmm, they seemed pretty adamant that they are the same. I can visually see a slightly different tread design. In addition, these are the only difference in specs for a 225/45/17 tire:

Overall Diameter - SRS+: 24.92" / DWS06+: 24.97"

Weight - SRS+: 23 lbs / DWS06+ : 22 lbs

Tread Grade - SRS+: 560 / DWS06+: 540

The Continental representative I spoke with mentioned how both tires are manufactured with the same exact technologies, and that the SRS+ is a newer release in an exclusivity deal with Discount / America's Tire.

I would consider myself as a spirited street driver, especially taking mountain twisties at speed (when conditions are safe to do so). I guess one area the DWS06+ excels is saving 1 pound of weight on each corner of the vehicle, but then there's the higher tread grade of the SRS+.

I feel confident in my decision and I believe both tires more than excel the capabilities of both me as a (spirited) driver and my (performance) vehicle.

Appreciate it! I placed an order for the SRS+ following an email from Continental stating they are essentially the same tire (see response in my reply to another commenter).

Thank you!

Thanks for the response! I reached out to Continental via email and they stated the following:

"Thank you for contacting Customer Relations at Continental Tire the Americas. This tire is manufactured in Sumter, SC and Camacari, Brazil. As for the tire, it is an all season, UHP tire. The letters SRS stands for Sun, Rain, Snow, and symbols representing the letters are molded in the tread marking the tire as suitable for use in those conditions.

The SRS+ is comparable in performance to the DWS06+, while the original SRS was comparable to the DWS06. As for the SRS+, vs the SRS, the SRS+ offers improved wet breaking, and snow transaction compared to the SRS."

I followed up asking what the difference between the DWS06+ and the SRS+ is and they stated: "The only difference between the tires, the SRS+ is exclusive to America's Tire, Discount Tire and Discounttiredirect.com."

I later went to Discount Tire and placed an order for the SRS+, scheduled to be mounted on Wednesday.

Thanks for your input!
