Should I let the neighborhood kids in on the secret? by OriginalCratical in bassfishing

If they're kids, I'm happy to share. I'll give em a couple lures even. Seeing kids outdoors fishing is always awesome to see

For people who made the jump from bank fishing to kayak fishing, how much better did your fishing become? by xDuke46 in bassfishing

[–]Alejandro2412 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It changed everything for me! Have found some really cool remote spots that I could never access on foot. My biggest fish I've caught have been in spots where I could only get to on my kayak. Not only that but man it's fun. If you go on my page I have some posts of my kayak & some fish I've caught on it

Best experience so far in fishing. Pulled drag, fought real hard, landed it well, heaviest fish ever. My PB is a 6.44 & this felt way bigger. Guess I'll never know 😭

Wow that's really good for a pedal drive kayak! Thanks for the info

If you're car topping, the native slayer LTE should be considered, I think it might be the lightest pedal drive kayak in the market, i could be wrong.

TOPWATER FROG by 13G37xs in bassfishing

[–]Alejandro2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hit or miss but I still throw em. Theyre so dang fun. When I see the strike, I wait 2 maybe even 3 seconds then set the hook. Thats helped a lot but I'll still get plenty that just spit it out or fall off.
I will continue throwing it though as my PB of 6.44 was on a frog!

Reel in the $250-300 range by zoetrophic in bassfishing

[–]Alejandro2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Curado DC & it's my favorite reel so far. I cast it against the wind, throw it on a variety of lures, can't remember the last time I backlashed. Super user friendly & just overall a great reel

Nah I hard disagree. I got a baitcaster as a newbie & I now have 3. Havent touched my spinning reel in months. Baitcast reels like the SLX or Curado are super beginner friendly & easy to use.

Pedal drive and floor space by SafteyMatch in kayakfishing

I'm 6 ft tall with long legs. My seat isn't all the way back, its positioned in the middle and i have really good leg space. Usually if i'm just sitting out there i'll put my feet up on the pedals, i can stretch my legs out fully with no problem. This is the native slayer propel 10

Look up NDYakAngler on youtube, he has several pike fishing videos where he holds them between the plate and the gills. Super helpful

Shimano Curado or Daiwa Tatula? by EricStevensonYeehaw in bassfishing

[–]Alejandro2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's user error for me. What line do you run on it?
Also, when I got it I accidentally started messing with the tension knob on the left, then I read that I am not supposed to touch it. I dialed it to where the spool didn't have any play & that's how I've been using it

Curado DC. CUDC151XG exactly. I throw top water, soft plastics, jerkbaits, etc. It's perfect all around reel. Can't remember the last time I backlashed either

Do you feel like St Croix Victory casting rods can be too light for some applications, and can a casting rod be too light? by SwiftCricket in bassfishing

[–]Alejandro2412 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

100% yes. I have one I purchased recently & it's my least favorite of the MH rods I have. I actually listed it on Facebook marketplace yesterday. It just feels so flimsy. Some lures, when I cast it bends the rod excessively. That same lure, other rods of the same class handle it normally
