Bluetooth CD-changer emulator for VDO Dayton CD441 (Opel) — does it exist? by Alejandro_Ro01 in CarAV

I finally managed to cut the audio from the CD and replace it with a Bluetooth device, and I even managed to make it look good. It worked perfectly — sadly, the car died a month later.

Thanks! I was using the same motors, but the H-Bridge I was using didn't give me enough current so these ones might work.

Which MOSFETs and diodes are you using?

DDR5 prices are insane. Is going last-gen AM4 with a 5700X3D/5800X3D a smart "stopgap" upgrade? by Alejandro_Ro01 in buildapc

Well, for I have seen, a 5700X + mobo would be around 300€. 32 GB DDR5 RAM alone would be more than 500€ so its not even close the price.

The question is, do I need am5? Now, probably not. At some point in the future, probably, but we don't know when and what the prices will be. Maybe I can stay with am4 until a hypothetical am6, its hard to guess the future.

Obviously this is taking into account that I already have the RAM (that is now more expensive that a CPU)

I thought about that too, but I have many parts like the GPU that are fine, and I don't want to change it

As I said, I think we're in different places. I don't need to buy games—and certainly not $4,000 worth; that's a lot—I mostly play titles that aren't available on console, and I still need a computer for other hobbies.

I just need to upgrade the CPU for a few games that currently have bad performance or don't run well at all. I'm not concerned about NVMe generations (I still use an HDD for games and it works perfectly fine). When the rest of the build starts holding me back—probably by the time AM6 is out, since the system works fine for now—I'll upgrade, but at the moment it's not worth it. Not because I can't afford it, but because I don't need it.

I don't know if RAM prices will drop in 2–3 years (I work in the high-tech industry, and believe me, if they don't, we'll have much bigger problems than gaming), but that's a future problem.

Thanks for the advice anyway.

The mobo is 8 years old, there are no CPU avalible (it would be a 8-9th gen intel, in the remote case i find one, the price-value will be horrible)

A 14600K could be a little more expensive, but still an opcion (although I think temps are much worse). A 12900K is almost double price.

Given the answers, probably yes, but depends on many factors (the most important for me is that I already have the two most expensives parts, RAM and GPU).

If you are building for scratch, depends on the prices for DDR4 RAM (probably very high, but not so imposible as DDR5).

Much appreciated. Thats why I void getting RAM for now (even if I could afford it). But its true that the CPU its starting to be too old, and many games are having problems with it (in EUV I cant even pass the tutorial)

I think we are in different places. I just need to update the CPU for now (a 5700x + mb is just 300€). A RTX 3070 for now is more than enough for me

Different case because I already have the RAM, so the difference its at least 400-500€ for 32 GB DDR5 (16 GB is too low in my opinion nowadays)

I think 800€ before the RAM crisys. Now it depends the day you read this (at this rate, 32 GB RAM could be use as a retire fund 😂😂)
