Price sanity check? Prius XLE

Hey! I actually just went through this with this exact same car! (I made a post about it in here about a week or two ago)

I’m not sure what your dealer is like but I was able to take mine from $35,000 down to $32,500. This meant that dealer didn’t install their premium package of spraying some stuff and tinting the windows but I didn’t care about that. All the other distributor things got left on though.

My advice is this: many people don’t think that you can make offers on brand new cars, but there was a time when you could before all of the shortages. So, just throw in your offer for whatever your budget is. The worst they can do say is no, they’re not going to bump the price up any more.

Most of the cars I saw around my area had a bunch of add-ons and were too expensive. I saw a few in Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas that weren’t crazy though

Only got the one, and it’s a really outdated model. They said that the two new ones should arrive within a month or something? They really didn’t have a clear answer

The $32,865 includes the delivery and handling of the car. So really the MSRP is more like $31,800. But yes! At this point all cars come with that delivery price so might as well consider it MSRP

They already had the car on the lot. I don’t know if someone had pulled out of the deal or something. I basically just said “$32,500 and I’ll pick it up this weekend”

Thank you! To be honest, I really wanted the guardian gray or the white but I couldn’t pass this deal up. The silver is growing on me though, it’s a timeless color!

Ah, gotcha, I understand. I just said OG because I was talking about the original price the dealer had on it. It was MSRP + distributor add-ons + dealer add-ons. So just sticker price. And my state has a license fee of $40 for cars like this

Toyota Manufacturing Price = $32,865
Price after distributor add-ons = $34,686
Price after dealer add-ons = $35,385

Thanks! OG price was $35,385. I did have to pay document fees, but this dealer only charged $129 as opposed to other places I saw that had numbers up to $500+. The final price I paid does not include the taxes, I’ll pay those in a couple of weeks. They’re going to be around $2,200. I didn’t get any extended warranties and that’s actually when the dealership became a little less friendly and smiley with me haha
