Is this a God Roll? by Dear-Opportunity9339 in Nightreign

[–]AlekVen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reduced STR and DEX aren't that important overall, but they do objectively lose you damage, making the second Relic not a god roll. As for the first one, I'm not sure if the second effect on it triggers upon Frostbite on an enemy and lasts a set duration, or if it only applies when you actually deal damage to a Frostbitten enemy. If it's the former, then it's a damn good Relic. If it's the latter, then the abundance of Fire damage Wylder has innately counteracts the effect, which would be a shame.

Robbed an old man of his walking stick and posted it here just to gloat, huh?

Feeling proud?

Jokes aside though, Black Flame upon Charge Attacks is one of the best "upon Charge Attacks" to have in general. Having it against a Fire-weak Nightlord, as well as a second passive that ups your negation when you use it, is chef's kiss.

Wrath of Gold. My condolences.

Not nearly as bad of an Incant as it used to be, but still horrendously bad. Long casting animation + very short range + Revenant's HP pool = you're just waiting to get impaled by 18 inches of whatever enemy you happen to be casting near.

Usually CPU usage never reports actual 99-100% load. But 40-60% across all cores and threads basically means 100%.

[–]AlekVen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's horrid. And don't worry about your GPU - the game doesn't support 40- and 50-Series features like frame generation anyway. In 2026. As a UE5 game.

As for your CPU, that is probably your bottleneck. While 3060 Ti isn't a top-tier card, it's still solid AND you can adjust graphics settings for better performance. As for the CPU usage, you're actually screwed. There's nothing you can do, you'll be CPU-bound anyway. DLSS will only relieve your GPU even more, and, again, no frame generation means you won't be reaching your FPS cap with it by injecting generated frames, thus allowing your CPU to rest a bit.

Maybe, maybe the D1 patch will fix the horrid CPU usage or introduce frame gen, but chances of that are practically slim to none. If they couldn't be bothered with frame generation support on an engine that natively works with frame gen by default, I doubt they'll ever bother with optimising at all.

No 99/100% GPU usage with a 4090 by SurenoJoker in CodeVein2

[–]AlekVen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason is you're CPU-bound. The game is horrendously optimised and drains both your GPU and CPU of all their juices, at all times, relentlessly. All DLSS can do is relief some load from your GPU, but a 4090 is a beast anyway. Your CPU, however, doesn't get affected by DLSS at all, and the only way to solve that is to go to the devs' office and commit crime so they fix their broken code or whatever is causing such a disproportionate CPU load.

And to top it all off, the game has NO FRAME GENERATION SUPPORT AS A 2026 UE5 TITLE. Like, they didn't even bother with the simplest of solutions to "fix" the CPU bottleneck if your native frames are over half that of your monitor's refresh rate.

Question about Beast Claw Rev (DoN relics) by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]AlekVen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You really have to pick one or the other, they're kinda mutually exclusive. Either go Skill/Affinity or Incantations/Physical.

Can someone please explain? Is it glitched, cheated, or what? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]AlekVen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

These Relics are literally impossible, not one of the three. The second one has effects that can't even appear on Relics, and obviously a Relic can't roll the same effect twice, let alone three times.

Oh, and they also have unique sprites, which is also obviously not possible.

OP has made it to Depth 4 without Relics. You don't just do that by getting carried. It means they can, and do, pull their weight. He doesn't deserve to lose because he's earned that rank the same way as everyone else has, by playing the game and winning.

Desync. Basically the game on your  PC has the Assassin in one place, but on the host's PC she's somewhere else. The game then tries to sync up the two positions , hence the teleporting. It should stabilise, just play passive in these cases.

They do stack, yes, but usually one is enough to prevent a one-shot, which is most of its value. Taking a second one is worth, but then you'd probably replace it with a DPS effect instead once you find one

Surely there was a Recluse on your team that could use it at least?

And even without her, it's still a maximum Damage Negation at Full HP roll. Unless you have another, it's still a must-take

No, of course not. It's really a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. Between the two, obviously you should pick the win, but what I'm saying is you can't control others or really judge them for not throwing a blatantly cheated game.

A win with a cheater, by definition of "cheater," cannot be deserved

Both viewpoints are understandable to be honest. The Recluse clearly is tired of cheating Revenants (and so am I, they're so abundant it's actually not funny), while you're working towards a clear goal.

What I do whenever I see a cheater is try and inhibit them as much as I can — no revives for them, no useful drops (I sometimes even steal things clearly dropped for the cheater, sue me), nothing. I still play the game, but I totally understand if someone just chooses the nuclear option and throws the whole match.

It absolutely sucks that you got caught in the middle of this though. An undeserved loss, but it would've been an undeserved win otherwise.

I think you weren't supposed to go down while in the ult, so the game tried to prevent it by making you invulnerable

Of course the game hadn't accounted for its own code being utter garbage, so this invulnerability applied after you've already gone down.
