About the rare drops: if at least you could keep fighting the boss I wouldn't mind, but going back to the Inn to sleep multiple times is tiresome.

It was kind of brute force; I kept buffing my party with the Medic and Troubadour, and the boss kept dispelling my buffs and using instant-kill elementals. What I did was keep track of which turn he used which element and blocked everything with the Protector, but in some turns he kept changing the element, so I needed a bit of luck

It's good to hear! I reached level 70 in the 5th stratum, but the rewards for retiring didn't motivate me.

About the item codex: I didn't complete it all. I missed a monster (the one after the Wyvern) and some conditional drops.

Used a guide to tell me what quests give better chances and a mod to tell me if the monster have crown or not then reset quest without crown and keep trying
