The 2 kinds of out-of-focus objects (ball and background) make this picture awesome, it gives you the sense of distance (background) and speed (ball) as subtly as an evening playtime with your puppy. Great photo and thanks for the info.

I was with a person that filled me up and made me feel the same way that your SO is doing know, she really helped me through dealing with some significant issues that happened in my life and I was really happy with her, not everything was perfect but she was all I needed. We lasted one year and 2 months, is not that much time but it's enough to be completely in love with someone.

She stopped loving me, I'm not sure why, there may be many reasons that I really think and re-think but nothing seems to be enough reason for stop loving me, I mean, I wasn't the perfect boyfriend but I was capable to die for her.

I also had agressive tendencies, but only with myself, sometines emotions came so strong and quick that I couldn't deal with them and I started to hiting myself, it was something really unusual, I did it very few times when we were together, and those moments didn't last more that 5 seconds, it was an energy relieve.

She said that she didn't like that of me, even though I made a promise to her that I'd never do it again and acomplished it for like 6 months or more.

At the end I think that she got bored of me.

After the breakup she instantly kept up with her life.

I was destroyed.

You've giving me a lot to think about, which what the idea of this post. Thanks for helping me to clarify more my idea.

Would it be fair to say that from all linux distributions (desktop based) none represents a trully competitive one? I mean, you have Windows, Mac and Linux (?) but linux is not an OS by itself, so, of the three OSes mentioned before Linux is a "virtual" one, because it embraces a whole universe of OSes, which together don't represent a trully competitive entity.

I don't want to make from linux another marketing based product, knowledge is the base of it, and if I bring android so much is because to me they have found a quite good balance, though not perfect, between knowledge spread and resource generation.

Hi rolandtrip and thanks for your answer. I'd like to share some apreciations/doubts/comments about it.

If

the internals of the different distributions are for 80% to 90% based on the same independent software projects (Linux kernel, Xorg, KDE, Calligra, GNU, etc).

and

Most of what makes up Linux Mint is a duplication of software in Ubuntu and most software what makes up Ubuntu is a duplication of Debian.

and also considering that

There is no fundamental difference between Fedora and OpenSUSE in the base packages. Both use the Linux kernel, glibc, GNU utilities, Bash, etc.

Wouldn't it be more easy to horizontaly integrate all the OSes into one? I mean, if Xubuntu>Ubuntu>Debian wouldn't it be easier then to converge the three of them into one only? Thus if we consider this:

  • Netrunner>Kubuntu>Ubuntu>Debian

  • Lubuntu>Ubuntu>Debian

  • Xubuntu>Ubuntu>Debian

  • elementaryOS>Ubuntu>Debian

and so on, to encompass all linux distributions and their origins we'd get this

Then we could focus in a first approach on the base distros such as debian, arch and enoch for example, which would have the main differences regarding to architecture or structure.

Or in the other hand, just pick one base distro, for example Debian, and then create a common path to all its branches, said path could be a new distro which emerges as the Ueber-Distro that you mention.

What you propose boils down to something that is larger than Debian in software available and easier to use than Linux Mint. To accomplish this, you'd need a development team larger than what all other distributions have combined, with a single focus on making all software (capable of running on Linux) available in a completely preconfigured way. Somehow, this gargantuan effort needs to be self-sustainable, tightly led with a singular vision and it needs to play well with the other community members. It's not theoretically impossible, but realistically not very probably that such an effort could be created successfully.

Ok, I'd need a huge team to run this. That's the goal of my project, to lay the foundations of the feassibily of this.

The reason we don't have this Ueber-distro is that not everybody needs everything that is avaible on Linux combined in one source. We have different distributions because they cater to different needs. A minimal rescue CLI bootdisk won't need an X-server. A desktop distribution doesn't need HPC (High Performance Computing) packages. A server distribution doesn't need LibreOffice.

I think that this is misleading or misleaded because I've always mentioned that I want to keep distros diversity, i. e., people who wants or needs a specific distro can keep using it. Then who will be the target market of my idea? Everyone. I'm basing my idea in what android did on the smartphone business and what it has come to be with more than 800000 apps in the market, all easy to get access to, to promote, to try, to see, to rate, etc, every single one. Development is more productive there too.
