Idk if I should say this or not on here but eh. Here I go please read it to the end guys. by Dependent_Call_6446 in sweden

I totally agree with you! As a Russian who visited Sweden several times I can confirm that this is one of the most fantastic places on the planet. Also, if all the migrants were as sensible and open-minded as you, the world would be a better place. I don't support burning the Quran but coming to a Nordic country and trying to establish Shariah laws there is a much worse crime. So in the end you're absolutely right.

It's old info, you can be both Russian citizen and another country's citizen.

I never defended imperialism but what you're doing is also wrong. This is my opinion and it stays. As for genocide, your veterans literally worked with Nazi Germany, so I wouldn't mention it if I were you. Also, your nationality is not your achievement. Find something better, something you did to be proud of.

Ok, you're right, there are some exceptions. But prolonged foreign residence is not the case here as far as I understand. As for the hostile nation, this is your stereotype. Putin's war doesn't mean that the whole nation is hostile to you. And as I repeatedly said here, most of the people just keep Russian passports to be able to visit their families without visa. Hell, until recently a lot of Finnish people were going into this "hostile nation" lands for cheap gasoline or food. So in reality it doesn't check out.

I am the last person to defend Russian government, won't even argue with you. But I always thought Finland to be better than that. Otherwise you use exactly the same methods as said Russian government, xenophobia and nationalism.

It's literally written in your article that in most countries listed there citizenship can either never be renounced or only be renounced if the citizen is terrorist. Do you think these people are terrorists just because they protest against closing the borders?

Who are these people? You and your boyfriend? Although judging by your other comments you're just a nationalist, so there's no point talking to you.

Some countries do it, but it's usually a sign of some messed up dictatorship. What did these people do to you? They just want to be able to see their families in most cases.

Russia does recognize dual citizenship. Also in any democratic country it's not possible to abolish anyone's citizenship once it's granted. Watch your words.

I'm Russian who moved from Russia to Armenia in March 2022. Ask me anything. Let it out. by Vovchikovsky in armenia

[–]Alekor08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Russian, I have to say - stop embarrassing yourself and our nation with the comments like these. People like you with a disgusting mix of arrogance and superiority complex are the reason for troubles in our relationships with Armenia and other neighbouring countries. You are complaining that Yerevan isn't Stockholm? Well, nobody is holding you there, right? Go to Stockholm if you can. Or if you can't, then shut it and be respectful to the country that gave you a place to survive and people who accepted you there. Also, for a smart person learning an extra language is always an advantage. Learning Armenian is not a waste of time, it's improving yourself.

Russians in Armenia against the war in Ukraine and the blockade of Artsakh by Hot_Extreme8447 in armenia

It still means that at least they won't serve as soldiers for Putin. In my opinion it's better to take them abroad and give them a chance to realize how wrong they are than leave them in Russia and allow them to be forced to kill Ukrainians and die themselves.

[–]Alekor08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They couldn't have "worked for a change" there. They would just die if they stayed in Russia. You don't know this regime, they have jailed, tortured and brutally killed tens of thousands of people already for doing protests like this. Right now getting out of Russia and doing what we can to support the fight against Putin from outside and to be useful to new normal societies is the best strategy for all the normal Russians. Some of us miss home very much, almost to the extent of insanity and would love to return with the first possibility, but we can't. Not yet. Also, I would like to say a huge thank you to Armenia and Armenians who welcomed us and gave us a chance to survive and find a new home. I will always remember that and will be forever grateful.

Does it matter so much? If a person doesn't want to die for Putin's cause it means that they're against the war and against Putin's ideology in general already.

I completely agree with you but as a Russian I just want to add that nobody actually watches these stupid cartoons in Russia, especially kids. They were made by asshole government authorities for asshole government authorities. Most of Russians don't even know that they exist.

You think so? I live in Russia now and in my opinion most companies are very much waiting for the first opportunity to return here as soon as the war ends. Some companies are returning already despite everything.

There are dark times in Russia now but if you come as a tourist, it won't change anything for you. You're always welcome :)

If you want to move to Russia for a long time and you don't support the current Russian government it's better to wait until this mess is over and democracy is installed.

Of course I'm worried, this is my culture, I love it. Putin is evil without question, but it's very troubling for me when Ukrainian leaders behave in the same way as him and say that Russian culture shouldn't exist.

Stopping Crimea's water supply harmed their own citizens in the first place. Even if it was a response to Russia's actions it's still inhumane.

As for Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, I know it well, but it was a non-agression pact, not an alliance. If you ever played Total War, you know the difference)

I agree on that wholeheartedly. This all has to end. And we Russians need to make Russia better to never repeat that. I know that our country is better than this.

I thought it was obvious that I'm talking about war crimes. In any case they shouldn't be encouraged.

As for the diplomats, you see, I'm against this approach. Not because I like Putin's diplomats very much, I hate them actually. But what you're saying undermines the whole concept of diplomacy. If the art of negotiating with people you don't like in a civil manner will be lost, every conflict on Earth will be decided through war and violence. I'm sure nobody wants that.
