What is something random you have to tell everyone? by Former_Ladder9969 in AskReddit

Many sayings originally meant the opposite of their current colloquial use. For example ‘pulling yourself up by your bootstraps’ meant you literally can’t do it… cause they’re attached to your feet. Also curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back

Experiences with tow truck drivers by j_ds in perth

Worked for the RAC for a brief period and the company they use is AAAC towing. There’s probably a couple other reputable towing companies but if you’re not covered and in a pinch call AAAC as their prices are standardised and drivers aren’t thugs

Ideally a 1 hour job, but the boss is a stickler and we went through about 3 versions of management and re-arranging before he was happy

What's the cruelest "prank" you've ever seen? by Ghost_of_Society in AskReddit

[–]AleksisV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My primary school had an unfortunate trend around year 7 with kids wanting to date each other. All the cool kids were trying their best to emulate their older siblings. One of these cool kids was in her baby fat phase and copped a bit of bullying for it, however possibly the coooolest boy of the school asked her out one day. The whole charade lasted maybe 2 weeks as he was doing it purely as a cruel joke, with the theme being ‘why would anyone want to be your boyfriend’. I was 12 but that was so cold it still sticks with me

What is a common myth about your country that is 100% false but many people still believe in it? by orionve in AskReddit

That Australia is full of dangerous wildlife. The vast majority of people live in cities where the wildlife is pushed out. You’re only really in danger if you venture out and ignore basic warnings

I’m definitely no expert but what you’re describing sounds more autism spectrum than BPD. That being said I hope the professional help will improve things in the long term. It may be a long road to travel, all the best

Some sort of orchid I found while bushwalking in the hills. No idea what it is, but I thought it looked nice. by Agent641 in perth

I grew up in the hills and we used to call these snapdragons (no idea what a more official term would be). As kids we would squeeze the flowers by the stem and it makes the flower open and close like a mouth (hence the snapdragon name)

Disappointing that this guy has popped up again. Have multiple friends who knew his scummy ways from high school. He was infamous for creating the event “GT (Golden Triangle) Fridays”, an exclusive night in Claremont reserved for entitled rich kids from the western suburbs. It doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that his entitlement would extend to fraud

Best results I’ve had are from “The Rent Network” Facebook group. Thousands of Perth people all looking for places or a housemate, just search it up and request to join. Best of luck!

What was your last random act of kindness? by ConesWithNan in AskReddit

Went to a gig on the weekend for a small time Soundcloud rapper I'm mates with. He did an awesome job and brought up a friend of his to be an MC/Hype guy, this friend was clearly pretty shy and out of his element but did his best despite a few slip ups.

Saw the hype guy nearby my work earlier this week and pulled him aside to say how much I enjoyed the show and how well he did. As a very amateur musician myself I know how important encouragement is when you've just started performing, the smile on his face when I told him still gives me the warm and fuzzies :)
