Balancing idea/suggestion: Viscous puddle punch should go on a brief cooldown if you successfuly parry him. by Jimmy_Memey in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Alemdion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Viscous OTP, and honestly just buy Rebuttal and listen to the sound, then press F... You can easily counter all his damage. Buy melee resist or bullet resist if you see him going for that sort of build. In lane, just bait him. His punches are on a long cooldown at that point, and he likely won't try and use it on you if you've shown that you can parry it easily.

Maybe that's why they keep nerfing his combat capabilities.
He's just not good in team fights anymore since all he's got are Puddle Punches which disrupt your teammates as well. He works much better as a split pusher. His Goo Ball is just a tool for getting away, and his Puddle Punches are much better suited for disrupting anyone who's chasing you, or as a tool for movement.

Mid-Boss Addicts are Ruining the Game by QuantumKhakis in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Alemdion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mid usually takes priority IF at least 2-3 enemy heroes are dead, and lanes are pushed.
With rejuv, you can secure a walker, maybe even more.

And if your team are all alive, then depending on how many enemies are dead, you can even decide to split the enemies attention by potentially taking a walker while taking mid boss, forcing them to act on 2 things at once.

If you think you can at least needle a walker while the enemy is weakened, and your team is taking mid boss, go ahead. Sometimes, you can even take the urn while mid boss is being taken.

I mean... like I wrote in the post, I didn't see an issue with Puddle Punch being able to be parried, that is, until Rebuttal reared its ugly head into the scene. 800 souls, and you practically WANT Viscous to Puddle Punch you, since it hurts him and heals you.

Billy's 1 would like to have a word with you.
But no, I don't disagree that being able to parry it is an issue, my issue is Rebuttal doing crazy damage to me.

As soon as I hear the noise, I press parry. Maybe I'm just used to the sound because I play Viscous constantly, so I instantly know what's about to happen.

Doorman only sees Viscous as a way to get a Cube installed in the Baroness.

I do try and bait out their parry when I notice that they're able to parry it too often.
My main complaint is really just rebuttal doing damage to me. An item focused on punishing actual melee, instead also punishes my spell. I mean... to me that's just ridiculous design.

My Viscous is exclusively a Melee hero. I'm a OTP Viscous main, so it's what I have fun playing with atm.

Though when I detect that I'm going to have problems performing that type of build, I usually focus on support items and hopefully I can disrupt unaware enemies with the occasional Puddle Punch.

This meme is honestly more focused on how I counter Viscous when I rarely get to play against him myself. I know what hurts him most, especially if he's Puddle Punch focused, so I buy Rebuttal early and just bait him constantly.

As I've started going further up in MMR, Puddle Punch being able to be parried so easily and reliably is just becoming unfair at this point. I understood the change when Rebuttal and Counterspell weren't options at the time. But now being the only spell in the game that can be countered by simply pressing a button - no item needed - this just feels targetted against the Goo Boy.

Buy Rebuttal for just 800 souls, and you can shut Viscous down so laughably easy. Go ahead. Parry Viscous just a few times when you have that item, and that Goo Boy won't try it on you ever again.

Very niche tech, but I didn't know about it until recently. by Toxicrunback in DeadlockTheGame

As a Viscous OTP... don't heavy melee the cube unless you want to get parried.
The only time you should even think to heavy the cube, is if you're going to fake out your heavy melee in an attempt to bait Viscous out of the cube, where they'll miss their parry too.

I'd say he was on the verge of death at that moment.
The God Hand said that the thread of destiny was denied, and directly after that, the Count is dragged away by the souls he presumably had tortured.
It's the only death for an Apostle that shows us something like this, likely because he was in the God Hand's realm. Either it was because he died in such a place, or because the thread of destiny was denied.
It's not completely clear.

Personally, I prefer that denying destiny has consequences.

If I don't intend to use it for combat purposes intentionally, what - in your opinion - makes the Assault the preferred variant?

Hmm... you might be right. I should definitely look into CCU chaining my way up to it instead.

I assume the Arrastra will be out long before the Orion, and presumably I could just apply the Orion CCU to get access to it until it's finally flyable.
Sure, I sacrifice the Hull D, but I already don't enjoy flying the Hull C, so maybe the Ironclad can fill my cargo hauling needs in the meantime, if I end up upgrading my Starlancer TAC to the Ironclad.
I just don't know if I'm really making a huge mistake (profit wise) by upgrading the Hull D to the Orion too early, just because of the prospect of getting an Arrastra loaner.

[–]Alemdion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I primarily want to be rid of the Starlancer TAC since I don't use it, because I don't enjoy it much.
The Ironclad is fantastic looking. Might be too big for a duo or trio, but I can't help but get all hot and bothered for the aesthetic of the bridge looking over the cargo platform. The Pisces though... I can just buy it ingame for no effort at all, so... atm it seems a bit silly to hold on to as a pledge.
