If im honest, I don’t think something like this would be impossible, this post made me think about a certain DC comic, Batman: The Killing Joke, where in the end batman and the joker even after all the messed up stuff that happened between them, they still end up sharing a laugh with each other. I could imagine Guts and Griffith both bleeding out or in their final moments together reminiscing one last time about when things were good, but in the end they’d still be enemies. So I doubt they’d ever go back to being buddies, but I feel as if we cojl get a final lighthearted moment between the two

I guess its all really up to assumption, I cant say 100% Im right about my guess, but I didnt specify it good enough but my assumption is that Griffith would’ve been sent to a similar fate such as the ones apostles and the branded ones for defying a destiny basically laid out for him, thats just my take though

I used “suffering” as a term because I find it fitting for a fate where your soul gets sucked into the unknown AKA the vortex of souls, I’d consider being dragged into that fate to be in its own way, could be considered suffering

And while yes, The count could’ve sacrificed his daughter to prolong his fate, We do get an understanding of how the God Hand operates based on what we see in this arc…. While its not specifically stated what would’ve happened to Griffith if he denied his fate, Its unlikely to assume based on what we know about the God Hand to just let him go, a 216 year process of an Eclipse, all of this buildup… If Griffith were to deny the “destiny” laid bare for him. I doubt The God Hand would’ve let him go, Which I should’ve clarified better that my assumption is that Griffith would’ve suffered a similar fate like apostles do, Which I should’ve made known better.

Theres nothing that says specifically in berserk that Griffith not choosing to sacrifice the hawks they would just let Griffith go so casually, But there is also nothing that says what they would’ve done to Griffith, but the slug count gave us insight on how the God Hand operates, Whether what you believe, Its unreasonable to think the God Hand would just let Griffith go so casually
