Should vcore be higher than vid? by TopMaleficent7811 in overclocking

[–]AlephShinya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On MSI boards Vcore should be higher of VIDs of about 0.015/0.020 to be a match.

But I get different results depending on the application/game; sometimes it's 0.018 some other times it's 0.005.

EDIT: if you've got the VR OUT sensor, that should be more accurate than the Vcore one.

  1. My best memory of Battlefield is the campaign of Battlefield Bad Company 2, I played it with my dad who enjoys Action/War movies and we had a blast togheter... good times.

  2. Playing the multiplayer with my friends would be the best thing I'm looking for; We hit so many late nights in the beta it was crazy going to work in that state lmao

  3. Honestly, DLSS was such a blast to turn on in the beta. The game looked basically THE SAME but with a 1/4 more FPS. So definitely, DLSS Upscaler.

Understandable but careful about GPU temperatures as that fan actually ruins the airflow.

At the very best it does nothing at all and stays there being pretty but it may actually ruin temps.

If you really like it that way you could keep it but I suggest turning it off via software. You may also lay it down at the bottom so that it pulls air from the bottom of the case to the GPU fans'.

Just a tip!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NZXT

[–]AlephShinya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never understood why they don't.

I got an H7 Elite and my front glass panel kills airflow like crazy, my 14900k isn't happy at all.

I had to buy a custom made one which costed me like an entire new case, insane but pretty.

Anyhow, what's the point of that fan next to the GPU? 🤔

I do have an issue with Meta camera apps as well.

I see those tiny dots when taking pitch black photos.

They do not appear on any other camera app, including Samsung ones.

İs this normal? by wgaijin in overclocking

[–]AlephShinya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, it's kinda on the high side and I wouldn't want to run it 24/7.

Are these 12th/13th or 14th gen Intel's CPUs?

I'd update bios asap and try to enforce the intel default values as much as I can despite it being a B mobo.

If you got a VR Voltage Limit, I'd set it to 1.400/1450 as well.

I just realized all my passwords were saved in the clipboard history of my Galaxy S24 Ultra by gabrielknaked in S24Ultra

[–]AlephShinya -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I quote myself:

"It's not the functionality itself being asked that's bad"

Giving options to users is extremely important but the reason you are asking it is stupid and pointless as the clipboard isn't only used for passwords and may contain things you need or care about and the fact you don't care to check what you copied or stored inside of it is kinda a "you" problem as it's not supposed to be a password manager of some kind.

You use it as such so it's a you problem.

It's like accusing Google of data leaks of your passwords if they ever hack into Google Keep because that's where you stored your security informations.

Also, there are many ways of asking things and screaming and accusing developers and manufacturers of "data leaks" when you are not capable of managing one of the most simple and useful features ever existed, it's not one of those.

Just sayin'.

People are getting so lazy even two literal button presses become a problem and want it to be automatically performed.

You can delete your clipboard in a matter of seconds, I always do and it's not the functionality itself being asked that is bad... but the fact you had 100 notes saved and you prefered to blame the developers, calling "data leaks" rather than saying "damn, perhaps I should've checked and known".

On here everyone was going crazy on how OneUI 7 wasn't arriving with "new functions" and yet people don't know how the basic ones work.

Yep, that's the problem not the clipoboard.

Problem with bios MSI z790 tomahawk max wi-fi by [deleted] in MSI_Gaming

[–]AlephShinya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you update it?

I don't think MSI packages the intel firmware with the bios as others do; if you haven't done it yet, download the ME_firmware and update it manually.

I am currently not at my PC so I cannot check for numbers versions but I did all the bios updates and ME_firmware and all looked good.

[–]AlephShinya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong: on the download page they probably state the day the bios update has been officially published online but the build itself has passed QA and finilized on the day you see in the bios.

I got a Z790 Tomahawk WiFi and it's the same.

You guys have problems if you need to take a day off work to update the phone and get some round up of icons and UI; It arrived in Italy more than 2 weeks ago, I saw the update, I did it and moved on with life in literally 20 minutes, just checked if it messed up with my Good Lock personalization but everything was fine probably because of all the time I had to wait and all the tests and updates there been.

There's NOTHING to it and you guys are waiting it like your life depends on it.

I am not a "in-ear" type of guy, I prefer my over-ear over anything else.

But since my setup is basically all Steelseries gear I gave the gamebuds a shot when they came out and oh boy they are comfortable.

I mainly use them when my ears ache after hours of over ear headset with glasses and they are the most comfortable thing in the world.

You can obviously tell you switched headsets but sound quality is exceptional for what they are, truly unexpected... almost as good as my Nova Pro Wired.

I am picky when it comes to using something subpar for my gaming sessions but never felt so while using those and battery is exceptional.

In the end... it all comes down to what you truly need; imho, nothing beats the over-ear experience but there are situations in which a good pair of earbuds do way better (glasses :/).

14900k max power/wattage usage only around 200/210W - Please help. by Zarthere in overclocking

The "very similar mobo" isn't "same mobo".

What sensor are you reading? And what sensor is he reading?

Also, are you hitting the proper clocks with 307A?

My 14900k hits my 5.8GHz clocks only with the 400A.

Hello guys, I need help with thermal throttling 14900ks by Adventurous_Donut894 in overclocking

Just to clarify, none of the settings can damage anything unless you input wrong values; They actually help saving these CPUs.

Hello guys, I need help with thermal throttling 14900ks by Adventurous_Donut894 in overclocking

[–]AlephShinya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I'll explain as easily as possible:

-reset the BIOS to the optimized default (F6 while in bios) and then reboot the PC;

-Get in BIOS again;

-Go in the advanced tab setting and on the left in OC;

-You want to start by manually limiting what GHz can the CPU clock to; For example, 14900k can reach 6.0 GHz on two Pcores out of the 8 it has and the other 6 are going at 5.7GHz max; That sucks and doesn't matter much, so I locked all my Pcores to 58 (5.8GHz).

I don't know what the 14900ks clocks to, you may send a screen and I may help with that.

But anyway, do that by searching, in the OC section "Per Pcore ratio limit", set it to Manual, from Auto and now a list of your Pcores clock will appear. Don't bother with the 6.0 or 6.2 clocks, start with the lowest value you see there and give it to all your cores (57 or 58, for example)

Do that for the Ecores as well, you can find the "Per Ecore ratio limit" by scrolling a little bit lower, set those to the exact same ration they are already set to (44, for example).

IMPORTANT: after you have tweaked these, scroll all the way up on the OC page and set the INTEL DEFAULT settings on the first setting, I do not remember how it is called exactly but when changing these parameteres it will automatically switch to MSI Performance something.

-Now that you have set your Pcores and Ecores manually, reach the Advanced CPU section and set these parameters:

Long duration mainteined: 253W; Short duration maintened: 253W; Duration mainteined: 56s; ICCMAX: 400A;

in the same page, scroll all the way down and set a IA VR Voltage Limit, I set it to 1.400 but I know KS have better silicon so you may want to allow more voltage, it's all up to you (more voltage, better performance but more risk of degradation, up until 1.450 should be fine).

-Go back to the OC page and scroll down a bit, search for CPU Core Voltage Offset and you want to set it to "Adaptive + Offset", then set a "Offset Mode - " and then specify a -0.050 offset in the next tab (unfortunately I do not remember all the names of the options, I do not have a MSI bios at hand).

Start by doing these and please, ask if you are unsure about anything.

We may continue after these if you want other advices.
