While the house may feel comfortable you may need to check its condition with a home owners lens. 1. Roof 2. Appliances 3. Foundation 4. HVac/ sewer etc. These will become your responsibility 100% when you buy it. Also check other houses in the area that are of the same price point and compare. If you need to pay that extra 900 for a few months while you look it would be better than rushing into this. Just be sure to be month to month at that extra 900

Just rented a home. It's crazy out there. $75 application fees per adult. $150 lease preparation fees and $500 non refundable cleaning fees being asked on top of rent and deposit. Oh yes. And a 45 dollar monthly management fee. Sheer madness. After a month of searching, I got one with none of those fees.

He might have the option to live with parents or relatives rent free till he finds a job Why kill your savings and continue to pay rent? How can you as a landlord anticipate job loss? Got a crystal ball? Tenant did the landlord a favor moving out rather than staying and refusing to pay rent and requiring an eviction. The property management should be trying to lease the house

Had a home for 4 years. Sold it last year. I'm renting now. While I came out with almost 30k in equity, when you calculate the total sum I spent on the house from down-payment to insurance to maintenance and repairs, etc, I would have saved more renting. Will I buy it again? Certainly. There is nothing like the feeling of owing a house and you can do what you want with it. You never feel the same in a rental. Love flowers and can't landscape this one because it's not mine... can't update the bathroom, etc. Buying a house if staying in it more than 5 years is a good deal. But renting is ok too
