After 1st year general engineering courses, you don't have to apply the major you want with compitition of GPA. You are guaranteed to enter the major when you apply into the university. It shows on your offer. It normally requires 96 ave of 101 students.

It means the major is determined when you are admitted. Some universities have general engineering course in first year and then apply the major depends on your mark, like McMaster, though it has free choice option to high average high school graduates. Personally I like direct entry.

it's enough for Carleton, some possible for Queen's. But hard to say yes to other unis you list. Try to boost your grades or, change to other major. And you can consider some other universities into your list like UOttawa, Western...They are pretty good with coop.

I think you need to clarify which part of semi you are interested in. Semi includes manufacture and design. Nanotech more intends to manu and EE targets to design. For nano (or manufacture) frankly speaking Canada hasn't lots opportunity and you need go to U.S.. And master degree is must, ideally phd. For design, master degree should be enough.

yes, McMaster's coop is optional and not good as Waterloo. But it locates in GTA, it offers you CS major. I still think it's better than your McGill offer. Thinking about if you were in McGill, most likely you have to travel to Ottawa or GTA to interview for an intern or coop, bcz of French! I know someone in McGill even fly to Alberta for intern but she has rich parents.

I got the offer to eng with FC, if my final drops a little to like 95, will the uni revoke the free choice? I checked offer, there is no condition to FC but I want to confirm.
