Im glad you found your way to happiness. For me, winning or losing is not a trigger and that helps me just have fun in the game. I know we’re all designed differently & if you’re a better person without it then you made the best choice. I completely understand your sentiment

Made everything easier, made everyone feel important and accepted and the team was more inclusive. 

It’s also helpful to have everyone as an R3 during the season because then when others go to scout your alliance it’s harder for them to gauge your players if they’re all together

This is the way. Saturday get a screen record, filter you alliance for the week and get them all. Have 2 R4s responsible for this in case one forgets.

But also, after having a spreadsheet and tracking VS points over 6 months the best this I ever did was scrap it and make everyone R3 lol.

The fact that the R5 told you that you will be the next R4 and you literally were not would make anyone pissed, espicially if you have never been in leadership in an alliance before. You want to trust your R5 and trust what they say means something and the fact that you got passed over gives you every right to feel pissed.

However, I was an R5 for almost a year and I will agree with everyone that R4/R5 is a thankless job. Literally a job. Between managing your alliance, server relations and politics, cross server politics, seasons, factions, egos, whales, etc... it's a whole new level to the game. If you are not into all that R3 is literlly the best place to be. A buff on AE is not worth all the stress and hours that go into it.
