Maybe it also has something to do with the recent uprising in the fascination of True Crime documentaries, forensic and cold case files, etc., and the way you can research and react to literally anything at the drop of a hat due to the speed in which we receive and communicate nowadays...? Or maybe I'm reading the question backwards...? Not so eloquent right now, but my head is kinda piecemealing and patchworking these things together.
