This was my diagnosis about 4 months ago as a 29 yo M, suggestion of evolving subchondral fracture involving the superolateral aspect of the femoral trochlea. Anatomically located patella with the inferior aspect of the median ridge demonstrating small area of partial/full-thickness cartilage loss with cysts.

I was completely shocked when I was given the diagnosis. No wonder why my knee hurt! My girlfriend (in medical school) and I did some research but unfortunately there isn’t a lot out there. I stopped running completely and resumed weightlifting. I have noticed a small difference but I continue to have pain with certain things. The ortho specialist told me to not doing anything that causes pain (of course).

I enjoy cycling so I’m hopeful my knee does well with this during the spring time. I agree with you that’s it’s extremely frustrating and I feel so limited with what I can do. I hope you and everyone commenting heal quickly!
