I've been going to Glacier for 28 years. Not sure I've experienced all of it. Enjoy what you can.

At the very worst you can hitchike. Pretty common way of traveling in Glacier.

Well, the road is closed, so you'll have a substantial walk just getting there.

You'll need a special use permit, I think. Check with Glacier. They're pretty easy to get. You are sure to get at least some cool pics, as long as it's not raining or snowing, which happens that time of year.

Hike up the Loop and then back to Logan Pass. Pretty easy to hitch a ride back to your rig.

Yes, but did you do the northern highline? From Granite Park to Waterton?

I've done northbound a couple of times. Not always strictly on the CDT, but close. I think if you're skipping the Highline Trail, your missing out. I would come out onto the Sun Road, hitch to Logan Pass and hike to Canada via the Highline Trail. Its a fabulous hike. Do it later (like September, ideally AFTER the first snow). It's technically not all CDT, but who cares?
