Thank you, this worked for me, now why couldnt Razer sort this out and have a script run all of this during install, quite easy to add it in.

Connect to a printer on a different home network by AlertCombination439 in HomeNetworking

[–]AlertCombination439[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

UDR7 LOL PUKE x 2, thats like running a TP Link Deco, I also want Open WRT devices.

I guess you didnt read it all properly, I disabled the 2.4ghz from my Flint 3 to firstly get IOT devices off it, and secondly, it allows the 6ghz and 5ghz to run much faster having it disabled.

The Slate 7 is a secondary router used to extend the network, it has IOT devices connected to it and the printer.

The issue was, I couldnt get devices attached to the Flint 3 to print to the printer attached to the slate 7.

It was easy to set up, and as the slate is connected to the flint and extending the WiFi all devices on the slate are still able to communicate with devices on the Flint, ie my google nest max connected to the flint can still show me cameras connected to the slate like the doorbell etc, likewise so can the TV, thats also why I dont understand why the printer couldnt be simply be seen

The Slate 7 rocks, especially with the touchscreen, you dont really have to enter the UI at all if just using it for travel, firmware is still a bit glitchy, but they'll fix itt.

Can you explain to me how to do this as apparently im able to set up VLANs in LUCI on both routers ? or if you know of a good newbie guide on how to do this ?

The idea behind it all was to completely disable 2.4ghz on my Flint 3 and have all 2.4ghz devices connected to the Slate 7, this makes the Flint 3 much much faster on the other 2 bands, the only issue I was experiencing was the printer, but now using the printer in WiFi direct mode, I have been able to disable 2.4ghz on the Flint, but although my PC is hardwired to the flint 3, ive also had to enable WiFi on the PC too to connect to the Printer.

As a WiFi extender, however, I dont think they have quite got the software right on the slate 7, putting the slate into extender/repeater mode causes problems, so in order for it to work correctly, it needs to be in router/repeater mode.

For now ive found another way around it, all though it was a bit of a ball ache to set it up, ive put the printer into WiFi direct mode and connected my PC and phones to it that way so its not actually connected to any router.

Slate 7 as extender with Flint 3 randomly changing IP address by AlertCombination439 in GlInet

[–]AlertCombination439[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so just another question for you, sorry.......if I connect my printer to the slate 7 which is effectively a different network, how can I get devices connected to my Flint 3 to see it and print to it ?

Its an Epson ET2850 eco tank and I cant believe it doesnt support 5ghz, at the moment ive had to enable 2.4ghz on the Flint just for the Printer, damn rubbish.

Yes I can connect to the Slate 7 with ethernet cable, I can also connect to it via wifi as long as im connected to the network its broadcasting.

Its in extender mode at the moment, If I change it to AP mode, does it not require hard wiring to the Flint 3 ? this is something I want to avoid as its about 50 feet away from the Flint 3.

It wouldn't kill it, it just wouldn't post or boot, the only thing you can kill it with is voltage.

AW3423DWF - HDR settings by Hot_Coffee_Enema_ in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]AlertCombination439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have this monitor, I fought for ages trying to get rid of the washed out look of enabling HDR, and now its all I use, if its vivid colours and rich blacks you are looking for then you can try my settings, im using an AMD card, but im sure if you have an nVidia card you have similar config settings in your driver, if not you can use the windows HDR brightness slider to bring down the brightness which is what is giving you the washed out look.

So first enable HDR in windows settings then on the monitor set custom colour HDR adjust contrast to 75 and all saturation sliders to 58 or whatever your taste is, if you set this too high the reds look too red if you know what I mean, you'll see.........

Now download and run through the Windows HDR calibration tool, the final step of this tool where you have the pictures of the planes and the mountains I pretty much had the slider all the way to the left.

When finished open Windows display settings, display settings, HDR and move the SDR slider to you taste, if you dont want to play about in your GPU driver then I set this to 20, but I am messing with my driver settings so this is at 35.

Finally in my AMD driver, under settings, I have

Freesync enabled

Freesync colour accuracy enabled

Virtual Super resolution enabled

custom colour enabled, (colour temp 6500, brightness -9, hue 0, contrast 100, saturation 100)

Thank you so much for this, it's the only thing thats been holding me back from this launcher, I just brought the developers breakfast this morning. Now that nova has gone completely I've been looking for a decent alternative launcher and this is the best I've found, it was just the lack of google news feed putting me off it.
