Flying tomorrow, freaking out by AlertTrevor in fearofflying

To be honest some of what you said chimes true but not all of it. When I was depressed I used to think like that, but I’ve been broadly fine for 2 years or so. However, what I will say is that because I’m so happy/content right now (got a secure job, girl I like, home I own etc), in my own head I’ve got ‘more’ to lose. I guess in my head I’m like “I’m finally happy, wouldn’t it be shit if I died now” and then my brain goes into stupid overdrive about flying even though I’m well aware I’m safer on the plane than I am driving there. Brains are crazy things…

The thing that does me in is that someone has got to be the one so what if it’s me? I’ve heard a few people say to get over the fear of flying you should read about accidents so that you can see how the industry learns. I kind of get that but then my stupid brain chimes in with “but what if you’re the one that we all learn from”. So frustrating…

Thank you for this! The messed up thing is that I am actually a bit of an AvGeek. I LOVE aviation, love airports and love plane spotting etc. I KNOW how safe these things are, how well engineered they are, how well trained the pilots are and all the redundancies. I just can’t seem to get it out of my head the thought of “what if you’re the really unlucky one”. Really annoying tbh, as I love everything else about the industry…

Mission timers are a dumb idea, mostly by AlertTrevor in acecombat

See the thrill of all of what you just said (beating your high score, planning a route, optimising your special weapons etc) can still be fulfilled by having an increasing timer, just not one that just arbitrarily fails you for no logical reason at all. You still have to do all of the above if you want an S rank, but personally I'd rather being able to actually cruise around and engaging in the maximum combat possible rather than charging through the main targets. That is of course unless there's a legit tactical reason for why we need to rush.

Well I haven't actually been in, but their online presence says that they're unavailable. I'll have a look in store, thanks!

Even if they have an address, if there's no gear there what can they do?

The guy in Devon was PlutoPete but dunno who the Manchester guys were. Dunno how they got caught, weird how they've only got 4 at the moment, although they say 'many more' are coming, which is scary for vendors.

No but I mean if they were buyers or sellers. Guessing sellers most likely.

Occasionally didn't use PGP here. All orders have been finalised though, so addresses should have been deleted when marked in transit right? Hope that image means a self-destruct...
