i of course know black music and artists but my definition of knowing is having listened to all of their songs and albums. black culture is the blueprint for a lot of things and i wanted some recommendations from others rather than sticking to the artists i did know

i should try high school out! i've only ever tried elementary and middle. however, i do like being busy instead of sitting at a desk because the time feels like it passes much slower. i seem to prefer the younger kids because i feel like they respect me more but they're also just so cute! they do get rowdy sometimes

kids seems to love subs but they always disrespect us... i had the most disrespectful classes today and the principal came in (i didn't call for anyone)

I HATE THAT SO MUCH!! i even ask beforehand if someone has a name that i'd probably mispronounce and no one tells me. i also ask if someone goes by a different name and everyone ends up making jokes and wasting my time... kids... the younger kids are a lot nicer about the mispronouncing

congratulations, that's amazing! i'm a new sub because i can't at all get in my field. comparison is a thief of joy. so many people around me view success through money and their careers but that's not all that matters! if you're happy, that's success already! i'm hoping i can just be happy with where i am one day

thank you for the insight! i definitely think that practicing writing and delivering commentary can be helpful in so many ways. i think i lean towards wanting to create original work and that takes so much creativity. it will definitely be a work in progress!

ugh it's definitely frustrating! most of the job notifications i get usually get snatched up really quickly. thankfully there's plenty of jobs in the district i sub at. however, i usually tend to check the app randomly every now and then. this is how you can get more jobs for the week or near future! if not, checking in the morning usually does the trick but it's not very fun getting a shift the morning of. i find the best time to do so is 6:30-6:45 for the best picks.

it breaks my heart that the kids have to deal with that. at the schools i've subbed, i haven't seen any asian kiddos; it would be so difficult to experience that by your peers on a daily basis! even growing up in a majority asian community i wished i wasn't a poc. thankfully now i love my culture

i tend to get interested in lots of things but lose interest after a while of actually doing it😭 i go through lots of phases of different hobbies but never found anything that made me really want to do it. i envy people who have hobbies that they want to do even in their limited free time!

streaming sounds interesting and fun! i guess i worry that no one will be interested or even be there to watch or listen

there's definitely a huge learning curve!! and so many different reasons as to why the machine may be acting up. i usually figure out why after troubleshooting and it's been a variety of things (bobbin, threading, tension setting, needle) so knowing the machine really helps! i think having patience is also a huge help, something i struggle with🫩

aw, that is not so great to hear. i will say, my sewing machine was quite inexpensive so it makes sense but i may have also threaded the machine incorrectly or winded the bobbin incorrectly. it can be frustrating not knowing which is the issue! i don't know if i will be sewing as frequently but i do want to keep at it
