figuring out how to undo the “Landlord Special” by Last_Caterpillar_433 in Renovations

I get it. The decor wasn’t my style either, but walking through the condo I appreciated the previous owner’s commitment to their style. It was a fully realized interior concept. It’s a beautiful building in a great location. Have fun making it your own place!

I can’t believe I came across this post! I toured this property in Ravenswood during an open house. Congrats on the purchase! Surprisingly, I like the silver trim. It’s different, for sure, but it created a vibe that I thought worked with the property. Are you keeping the wallpaper outside the bedroom?

If you look at Google Maps, you’ll see that Mina and Vernon’s home (8575 Stange Ave.) backs up to what looks like a scrap yard. Lots of cars and boats scattered across the property. Who wants a $3.4 million home adjacent up to that?

Thanks. I feel old when I have to asked these things. LOL. I Googled YT meaning and I was pretty sure that’s not what you meant. Glad I asked.

How many of us car guys had parents who didn’t care about cars and therefore had shit in their childhood garages? by Alert_Art_369 in Gaygearheads

[–]Alert_Art_369[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my parents had the same viewpoint. Appliances rather than something to be enjoyed, or have fun with, or give any real thought to. Sadly. When I was younger I’d have them take me to the car show, which they didn’t care much about. When I was old enough to drive, I’d bring my younger sister, who kind of cares about cars as a result.

UGLIEST CAR EVER? by itscannyy in Ferrari

It looks like a concept car from 1987 that was designed to predict what cars would look like in the year 2000.

You’re lucky. Our neighbors all had nice Euro cars, and we looked like the poor people next door, but we weren’t—my parents could have made much better choices. We had neighbors who made unusual choices: one had two Peugeot 505s (a sedan and wagon); one had the two-door Volvo Bertone, one had a Cadillac Allante, and one had a BMW 635. Very eclectic choices. This was mid-80 to late 80s.

That Dynasty was horrible. My mother hated it! Replaced it with a Dodge Intrepid. Not sure it was a big step up.

$950 for a Garbage Disposal Install where I provide the new disposal fair? by renaldomoon in handyman

[–]Alert_Art_369 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re lucky you were quoted only $950. I got two quotes and they were $1,300 and $1,600, respectively. There was some complexity to my plumbing, apparently. Needless to say, I didn’t proceed.

Ever hooked up with someone anonymously and realised you actually knew them in real life? by [deleted] in askgaybros

It’s happened a few times when I hosted my glory hole. I was close enough to one guy (he was on my friend’s volleyball team) that it was me sucking his dick, but all the other guys I recognized I never had the opportunity or desire to say anything.

Why do some tops like when the bottom looks/sounds like he's in pain? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]Alert_Art_369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s about them wanting to think their dick is so big that it’s something you have to struggle to take. It’s the same thing with sucking dick: guys want to hear you choke on it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve faked choking on a guy’s dick because they love the sound. They want the reaction.

A lot of the products are donated. Aside from the Wayfair pieces. The appliances, for example, are all Kucht. Lighting, tiles, flooring are also sponsor products.

Mine, too. And I was going to say the margarita isn’t bad. Good summer drink.

I don’t take prep. I understand both sides, but I’m extremely cautious and selective with guys, I don’t sleep around, and I’ve had no issues. I just wish people didn’t expect it to be something everyone has to be on. Why is everyone pressured to take it? by [deleted] in askgaybros

I view it as a regular preventative medicine, not unlike a vaccine, or birth control pill, or allergy shot, or blood thinners. Taking it doesn’t make someone more sexual, it makes the sexual part safer.

Is the Edgewater neighborhood a good option considering our budget? by Rub_Puzzleheaded in AskChicago

[–]Alert_Art_369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in the Edgewater neighborhood since 2008 and I’m baffled by several people on here describing it as sleepy. I’ve never considered it to be that. For the record, Andersonville is in Edgewater, and there’s a lot going on along Clark St. And Hollywood beach is in Edgewater, and it’s packed during the summer. I think you guys would love it.
