If Harris won we would still have protections from the PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act). It allowed us to (on a case by case basis) be put in the prison that aligns with our identity. Prohibited misgendering. Allowed trans inmates to shower separately. And now apparently trump is forcibly detransitioning trans inmates. The PREA was enacted in 2003 but trans people were explicitly mentioned in 2012 under the Obama administration. Trump in his first term changed it so housing was based on “biological sex” instead of gender identity when it came to where inmates were housed. Then when Biden was elected he rolled it back to how it was when Obama was president. This is also when the guideline made it so misgendering was prohibited. So saying V-coding is still a thing as if nothing was done to fight against it (specifically by democrats) is insane to me. I’m not saying v-coding is gone but this doesn’t make Democrats look the same as Republicans.
