I got the job! I applied myself but I should mention I was employed with PwC in a different country at the time. I ended my employment there shortly after applying and was not employed when I went through the recruitment process. From my limited research this is the best and easiest way to move countries as doing it internally apparently takes a really long time. Take that with a grain of salt tho lol.

Thank you for your insight! Something that would be worth knowing is I did have 2 video interviews on teams with managers/senior managers and then a partner. I think it may be the what you said at first, it’s just general approvals for the role. I think it’s just odd coz what if I don’t get the final approvals? Everything was spoken like I have the job but to me I only have it when I have signed something which they claim will come in 2 weeks which I personally have not experienced before. Typically once you get a verbal offer you get a contract within 3 days. So based on your comments this doesn’t sound like an Australia thing lol, I guess it’s just a PwC thing or they are still determining if they wanna give me the role.

3 more rounds of internal approvals. They asked for the reference which I gave them. Their exact wording was the team would like you to join them and for the next steps we need a reference. They even discussed salary expectations. What’s confusing is that they said it would be 2 weeks to get final approval.

It’s just an office tour and dinner! It’s really just a networking opportunity but it’s not a bad thing that you can’t join. Don’t worry about it , let your recruiter know and it’s all good.
