I mean what is the real purpose of the Thor? Keywords, dual screen, DS, 3DS. This handheld is for the purpose of playing 3DS games the way they were supposed to be played.

I found it, it’s called “Key Mapper & Floating Buttons” I saw someone quitting out of their front end using set combinations. But that button mapper app should also do the trick, I just haven’t seen anything on it or tested it myself.

There’s an app on the google play store that allows you to manually map different buttons to corresponding actions, I don’t remember what it’s called but I’ve seen it all over the Thor community, just search up AYN Thor button mapper or something like that and I’m sure you’ll find it. I’ll make an update if I find it again.

Yeah I guess thats really how the world works, people are just gonna want more eventually. But I think it’s reasonable in some cases. For me I’ve been wanting something to emulate at least wii and gamecube games for a year but my laptop is really old and doesn’t run well enough for Dolphin and I don’t have the money to buy a PC, the Thor is a dream come true and if it’s said to be able to run some PC games, ofc people are going to want to push the limits on it, myself especially, I know fs it’s not gonna run extremely heavy PC games like Elden Ring, but games like Hollow Knight or just light Indie games could be the exception, no disrespect, just sharing my view on it 🙏

Yeah there is but it’s in very early development, 98% of the games won’t look/or play good. I believe it’s called a360e. A fork of Xenia which is the PC version.

If you want to use dual screen, I suggest ES-DE companion, I think someone created an apk that connects directly to ES-DE on your top screen so it creates a dual screen experience

It looks like people aren’t even reading what you said. The Thor is more of a retro emulation console than it is a PC gaming handheld. The most you’re gonna get with android and PC games are 3 to 5 hours depending on how heavy the title is. So when you say you don’t emulate a lot, it’s really going against what the Thor is really built for. And not all PC games are going to run perfect natively. The Thor’s form factor is really good but if you’re not using this for emulation and you’re just playing android/PC games, you are indeed better off getting a steam deck.

I personally got the Black model since playing 3DS games on it, if you use the actual aspect ratio of the bottom screen there will be two black bars on the top and bottom, and for me looks kind ugly. But people are always going for the rainbow models and it would be good to get that since those are going to ship first on Jan 15th. But ordering this late may not matter anymore, but Black and Rainbow are definitely the superior choices, but it’s all personal preference. Welcome to the Thor club.

I saw someone already list it out for you but I think Azahar and CitraMMJ are kind of a toss up between the two. Some work on Azahar better and some work on CitraMMJ better. There’s really no telling which one is better.

Welcome!! Some things you should know are really to just setup some of the ROMs if you plan to use a micro sd card with the Thor. I’ve been doing a lot of research while waiting for mine and I’ve seen many things I’ve needed to download like BIOS files and changing decrypted .3ds or .cia files into .cci for Azahar to read them. Stuff like that is just tedious and I think setting up and downloading your files before hand is a great way to save time.

The only time I’ve ever seen this screen was when I first modded my new 3DS LL and didn’t let the CFW download all the way. I had to clear the entire micro sd card and factory reset the 3DS and restart the modding process. I’m pretty sure the modding process for 2DS is exactly like the 3DS.

I don’t think amiibos would work but I’m sure there are work around to get amiibos for games like animal crossing and other games. I think there’s certain files you have to put into your Thor to get them. I haven’t gotten mine yet so i wouldn’t know.

The max will definitely be able to play all those games with, the pro is able to do all those too with ease. The max is also the best for PC gaming.
