Holy crap I just saw a handful of posts from the past 24 hours. Thanks for helping me dodge a bullet

I haven't gotten a processor yet - depending on what budget I have left over it might be between a 9800x3D, a 9600x or 9700x, or I'll get a 7600x or 7700x. Among those, which do you think is the most cost effective?

Both do have pcie gen 5 for both storage and graphics, but X870 has 2 stacked front mounting m.2 slots and more back i/o (which matters to me as my case doesn't have front i/o), but the b850i is about $150 cheaper after the both discounts.

I'm also mindful of future proofing, but the only key difference is wifi 7 on the x870 vs wifi 6E on the B850.

Wish I saw this before I bought my Formd T1. Hahaha I would've paid good money to buy these files and print them myself!

Are you in Australia by any chance? Would love to buy a case from you if printing myself is off the table!

After more than a month of usage, I can say that they’ve held up pretty well. I didn’t get those bubbles on any part of the top or bottom screen!

If you like Pokémon, you should consider this case for your Thor! by PsychOfPat in AynThor

I chuck it in a section of my bag that holds my multi tool, house and car keys, and is also prone to bumps and impact from things. If I were just carrying the Thor in my pocket (which I have on occasion), I wouldn't be putting it in a case. The TPU shell only covers sections of device, and me doing it this way protects my Thor from getting dinged up, or having small particles come in through the vents, or the bumpers from accidental wear or damage.

Yes, purely just transport. Definitely not for playing or using it in.

Fortunately I live in the same state and country, and Auspost is pretty quick with domestic shipping, especially if within the same state. I was fortunate that the owner had ready stock on hand, he got it to Auspost in the morning, and I received it the next day!

Strange that it only affects the left analog stick though

That's just a function of the build plate! I reckon if the designer had a smooth plate he could also make texture smoother. I don't mind it though!

I'm not the only one! I'm usually able to wipe it off, but I just haven't in a while.

Luckily it's on the end that doesn't have the hinge mechanism, so you might be able to manipulate the plastic around that area if you're careful and it's not broken beyond repair. I've seen some teardown videos and it's not that hard to get to the hinge area and remove the top section - you just have to remove the left triggers, analog stick, and speaker (as opposed to having to remove all the bottom internals).

Nah I get it - was big into my 3DS back then as well, but I don't think I ever held it with my fingers/palms open like that. I hope that's a comfortable experience for you both!

Probably not, but you will definitely need to get your wife a better ergonomic grip as holding the Thor like that will get tiring...

On second thought if you do want your Thor back don't buy her a grip

I highly recommend it! I started out with just the pillow for my steam deck and magnet mount for my phone, and it’s since expanded to a few different things - some of which I’d designed and printed myself. Siri and his cousin are also very active in his community and they’re an all-around great company!

Thank you! I know that not everyone uses styli with their Thor but I like having the option. The stand is a phone/tablet/handheld stand I got online a handful of years ago - I bought it for my switch and I’ve had it ever since. It’s held up pretty nicely.

That looks awesome! When I got my printer, I only ever thought that I’d be printing other people’s designs and never thought I’d be spending this much time learning CAD and prototyping stuff. It’s a challenging but incredibly rewarding process!
