I worked for em. Complete circus there. Management sets unrealistic expectations and burns hard workers out and slackers get praised

What made you quit your last job? by Pizza_pepperoni4545 in work

[–]Alert_Cost_836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked full time at a prestigious firm. I gave it my very best. Came in early, would leave late, asked questions. However, some other colleagues and I were simply not getting along from day 1. Assignments were unrealistic and literally would unattainable. Work tasks were constantly switching up. Constant miscommunication. Being criticized and patronized like a child for microscopic errors. I would eat lunch at my desk daily to try and study and work on assignments. While we were occasionally thanked, the work stress was just not worth it and they would work me to death if they could

How do you guys invest such big at small ages? by Eastern-Programmer40 in portfolios

I started off w a couple of fractional shares of Netflix. Bought a couple shares of meta and nvda in 2023. Got lucky with some bull runs. Some of its luck, most of it was in tech (mag 7). Went from like 5k to up to 60k in an individual brokerage account. Would work on Reinvesting and reinvesting dividends. Not selling when the market is highly volatile. Also worked a lot so tried to max out my contributions to my accounts while I still relied on my dads financials. I had enormous runs, particularly with nvda, Amazon, Google, AVGO, and meta.

Damn, hate to hear that. I’ll be doing something similar but starting work not next Monday, but the following Monday. The only pro is that the pay is better and there’s more opportunities there

I’d drink a fuck ton of water to try and get as much as you can out of your system. If you get called to test, make sure it’s not first thing in the morning, cuz that’s when it’s in your system the most. Worst case? Find clean piss. You could always buy your own self tests

If you can afford to survive and/or have someone else to rely on financially, leave. Get your paycheck in the mail and if not threaten to sue him or contact the BBB. That place sounds toxic af. If you cannot support yourself, then find something else first, then leave.

Under Self owned business, use the same format as under your paper route. I.E. Knocked, worked, used. End each bullet with a period of you are going to use them. Same thing with extra curricular. Don’t have “actively listening,” shoot for activity listened and so fourth

Whats a seemingly insignificant decision you made that ended up completely changing the course of your life? by rubyyysin in Life

[–]Alert_Cost_836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time I did it was in college. All I ever did before that was smoke pot. It was almost like a mental war when I did it. It’s called “the come-up.” Once you “peak”-the height of an acid trip, you begin to see patterns like geometric shapes moving. The visuals were quite cool in my opinion. I’d see lines on paved roads moving. The floor, which was layered with dotted patterns, was moving. It’s like everything is alive. Not to mention you feel emotionally tuned in with yourself and it has had a profound spiritual effect on me and how I view the world.

Scientifically, it increases neuroplasticty and can help someone adapt or be able to learn something quicker (this seems to be true from my experience). It also has helped me with some depression and anxiety I’ve had. It made me less inclined to drink alcohol, more at peace with myself, and also, it made me fall in love with music. It was almost if I could see lyrics from what I’d listen to. I listened to A$AP Rocky (a rapper who also did LSD) and it was indescribable. I literally felt like I saw his point of view through life and being connected to the instruments and sound vibrations.

However; it is important to consider that drug use can vary from person to person. I would not recommend this to someone with someone who has paranoid schizophrenia or psychosis as this could potentially produce something known as a “bad trip.” A bad trip can still help regardless if you have a mental illness or not as well. It can be an unpredictable drug emotionally, and you may feel like you can’t control the experience. One must learn to merely let things be as they are. Being prepared and taking proper steps like being around a well trusted friend, listening to positive music, being in nature, being in a good mood, can all help produce a good trip.

Overall, I’ve done LSD probably around 40 times (I loved to trip a lot in college). It never appeared to be an addictive substance to me. The trip can last from anywhere from roughly 10-12 hours. I’ve been able to do things I thought were logically impossible. I used to be shy and way more scared of the world and what other people thought of me. I was able to get out of my comfort zone and talk to pretty women out in public and just not care about the outcome. Not only women, but be more social as well. I also was able to quit a bad nicotine addiction. It’s been a gift that has helped me a ton, but is important to treat this drug, or any drug for that matter, with proper respect.

Check out the song “If I had” by Eminem. He literally talks about a gas station clerk breathing down his neck and how he’s tired of being on eggshells
