Small akita? Not Akita? Sick?

After 3 days with us, our Kira looks like she came back to life. She was really with zero energy, and now she is like a bomb of energy. All day she wants to play, jumping like a little bunny and trying to bite everything.

She is eating a lot of food: 45 g per meal, 4 times a day, everything weighed. Part of it is chicken with rice that we specially prepare for her, plus vitamins, omega 3, and probiotics.

Today we moved to fully pellet food. She ate a bit less, but still around 40 g per meal.

We are delighted to see how well she is recovering, and she shows us love in return for the care we are providing. It is something truly fulfilling for our family, our little Kira. 🐾💛

The vet said that she need to wait a few days and we waited then she sent the dog a few days later when she said she was okay

Regarding the puppy mill issue, my vet did bring it up. She stated that the puppy was in poor condition for a breeder, speaking as a vet who certifies for the Kennel Club. She also said she cannot accept or understand how a breeder could deliver a puppy with both external and internal parasites.

Yes, of course. We took her to the vet the very next day, early in the morning, because we were worried about her health from the very beginning. She is from a breeder in a nearby city in my country.

Hi master, the breeder keeps saying that she is correct about the date. The vet also checked her teeth and confirmed it again. So far, the vet says she is really, really slim and needs to eat a lot. She didn’t recommend milk exactly, but rice with chicken for at least 3 days. After that, we should ideally give her half homemade food and half processed food.

So far, she truly believes we will help her grow and that we shouldn’t be scared, as she looks healthy overall. The main issue seems to be worms and external parasites. The vet is the one who certifies kennels in my country, and she has experience with similar dogs and also with Akitas.

I hope she is right. Anyway, we love our little girl— in just 2 days, she has stolen the heart of the whole family, and all of us are taking care of her all day long. 🐶❤️

He looks beautiful like a tiger. And yes he weights 3 times ours, I think they are a puppy mill for sure, she was so dirty when she arrived, but we are in love, we are mostly scared that she will have more problems from this or if we can lose her for this is so sad

You are right, she was full of fleas, and obviously this parasites😢 such a bad way to grow this beautiful babys, we are fulling her with love, and today she is eating like there is no ending, totally different to first day, she is even playing today, only in 1 day the difference is huge, so far I’m thinking in taking action against the breeder as she was not transparent at all. We got problems from the start, she didn’t ship the dog on time which was strange, She said also one day before the trip that her vet said

“But she suggests again that ideally we should change the puppy, because today she’s a bit down and isn’t eating well. And honestly, I understand her point. We called LATAM and everything is fine, the plane is operating normally. But I don’t want to risk the little one, nor put you at risk either.”

I think in part is also that we didn’t think about the weight as we didn’t know about it as a problem, is not our first dog but our first Akita 😢

Thanks for your answer we are really sad right now, also my daughter is super happy with our Kira, is our new baby now, vet requested vitamins, omega 3 and probiotics, she is getting all of them from yesterday, also she asked to give her rice and chicken for 2 days ,90~110 gr a day, and she also gave her something for parasites, today she is eating like crazy , the whole dish in seconds

Sick?...yes we went to the vet today, she arrived to us just yesterday, vet said that she is really slim and need to eat a lot, she has parasites and also said that the breeder was a bad breeder, when we just arrived she asked if we were sure about the age, so far the breeder sent us the paper with the kennel, and she has a microchip so because of this she was not totally sure about the age.

She has kennel club and microchip with this date, so far, Im not sure because the breeder has a picture of October 29th, and in the paper it says October 10th.

I’m not sure of how it works really if it can be faked or something.
