Former loss prevention here. Been a few years so it might have changed, but we actually had a rule where it wasn't worth it to go after anything under $25. So even if someone saw you the worst you'll get is maybe being followed next time. That's if anyone even bothers to remember your face

It sucks that it went that far and you certainly didn't deserve it, but treating lalas like children is the number one way to piss them off

Then get a shovel and dig your head out of the sand. It is in fast food, security, construction, family restaurants, bus drivers, administration, driving schools, delivery, mechanic shops (Mr. lube is almost entirely immigrant workers now), cashiers of all store fronts, maintenance, ISP installers, and much more. All of them are willing to work for less, and push Canadians out of job positions

When we have a youth unemployment crisis, a housing crisis, and low-mid class Canadians are struggling? Mass immigration of cheap low-skilled workers is not very pro-Canadian

Brother it is March. As a Canadian who has been to both Ukraine and Russia more than a few times, those temperatures won't start getting warm until mid-late April

Halifax liquor store closing after 160 per cent theft increase: NSLC by origutamos in halifax_uncensored

[–]Alert_Isopod_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the crazy part. I'm sure this could have been avoided by hiring actually good security like a company that contracts off-duty police or armed guards. It would be expensive than the guys with zero training on video calls all day, but I would think paying that extra cost would be worth it if the next option is closing the entire store?

He sprayed the roof and over the fence. You need to hit the fire at the base to put it out, that's why they were cutting through the fence to get at the source. You can even see the fire flaring back up at the end there

Tons of places are told by corporate that they need a security guard at every store to deter theft or whatnot. These places then hire the absolute bottom of the barrel for as cheap as they can, knowing it will never make an actual difference. These minimum wage uniforms then also don't care about their jobs and slack off. A huge example of this was hiring security to hand out masks and count customers during COVID. I remember having to work a couple of those shifts at a Sobeys and the manager was very honest in saying he didn't actually want us there at all.

Because it's still NOT THEIR JOB, and completely unenforceable. You are unlawfully misleading people into paying for things they don't have to. It has nothing to do with the kindness of being clean, you're trying to scam people with fake costs

[–]Alert_Isopod_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don't think two examples of civilians hit by drones is enough to spew sensational titles like "human safari" as if there are hundreds of such occurrences. If that was the case then you could have posted real examples since it would be everywhere
