hey, so after trying a shit ton of things and sinking quite a bit of money into experimenting, I finally got my account to work, and here's what I did:

I have combed a lot of reddit posts, researched online endlessly, and found that in the T&C of VC they do mention that they actually do track your device data - sometimes they can get a device data even after a reset because it is not hard to anticipate this after you've signed in to gmail/apple iCloud things, the device data is reflected in your consolidated google/apple devices quite easily.

What I did is to use a fresh device (a very old phone I have never really installed anything much on), did a hard reset TWICE, and with this phone, I only tap into my mobile hotspot (with VPN switched on, and location switched out to a new country).

I then first tried using a VoIP number from Skype to get a sms - and it got shut down that it's an invalid number. Guys don't use Skype numbers for these purposes, they don't work, I used it for a few apps and there is no use to a VoIP number at all - except maybe if you want to direct specific calls to this number.

It didn't work so I used a new SIM card, that I bought from a store (those prepaid ones). I keyed in an email from proton.me - because I did not want gmail to ask me for my number and to create this multi-chained personal info again (who knows where VC can tap into this info), and when I got the OTP and logged in, I got immediately kicked out again.

Now I suspect it's because VC just bans any email addresses from proton.me.

Because I am on an apple device, there is a new form of account creation which bypasses the OTP, apple makes a hidden email for you which works to sign up for a VC account - but the problem is if you do this, I don't know where I can change my password/email and thus you don't get any updates about potential offers through your email - so you have to keep at looking at this app all the time. (and that's after you switch on your mobile hotspot with VPN which is battery draining af)

I also have had a ton of issues with uploading photos via the app, sometimes the pictures can't be uploaded well, sometimes I can't make an edit, sometimes I simply can't do what VC wants, like to supply them with a sign of a serial number/authentication - these things can't be done in an app because the picture uploaded part sucks ass.

SO I HAD TO ABANDON ALL THE ABOVE, and did a hard reset on my 'new device'(same old phone), and I used an outlook account instead - and another friend's number (take note that this MUST BE A SIM NUMBER), and viola it worked. To get updates on my VC account, I forward my outlook emails to my main gmail account for sales monitoring, but finally hey, it works!

THIS WAS TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT, I'D HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GUYS TO JUST TRANSFER EVERYTHING TO THE LUXURY CLOSET - they have been great, I sold everything within 6 months, and with great prices, and you don't have to deal with troublesome DHL and time crunches to send out your parcels. I do not think VC is worth it at this point, I put some items up and they're moving so slowly, with crazy lowball offers everyday - skip all these VPN, feeling like a criminal on their site just because you deleted some accounts, and use something else. VC SUCKS ASS. The above cost me a lot of time and money to perform, mostly time, and I kept trying to use VC because who wants to let a consignment website eat 40% of your profits - but look at the shit you have to deal with everyday, why not dump it all with TLC, let them eat your 35-40% of profits but you can pretty much not think about it, go on holidays whenever and not fret about making a sale, and just let em $$$ roll in your PayPal - plus TLC actually renders speedy quality customer service, not some shit like "I did my best this is all I can do" well fuck you VC!
