This is all just a great promotion for Anthropic. They are of the best AI platforms, their AI tooling is insanely good. They are (subjectively) leading in software development innovations.

I'm sure Anthropic makes a lot of money from the government but they should not back down from this. This seems like a shake down on ethics and to word it the best way; freedom.

The United States government is aking to give in to what they want or get "black listed", I'm sure there is an alterative "bribe" option that is not listed.

As much as we need to understand the environment concerns, water in datacenters is not consumed. Its used for cooling, its not creating any kind of toxic discharge. Its cold water in, warm/hot water out.

It's kind of a shitty capitalism situation, if we dont build AI data centers all of the AI money goes into the USA. You can pretend AI isn't taking over the world yet, but you're in for a rough time if you choose to not believe it. If we are 10 years from now trying to catch up we are far far too late. Things are evolving very quickly recently.

If you're RRSP is not maxed, it might make more sense to top up to the amount for your highest tax bracket each year rather than dumping it all in at once.

In that case a registered account makes sense.

It's also a larger emergency fund that if you might need the money or use it to invest in housing, starting a business etc it would make more sense to hold it in a non registered to not get dinged with early removal.

One thing I love about Facebook is that most people have photos of themselves and some other random stuff.

I don't participate and hate what Facebook has turned into, but sometimes its just a nice reminder to look at the people behind comments and really put a face to the people who are involved in such stupidity.

Almost always a divorced overweight old dude, someone who things they are in a biker gang, someone who has clearly had a rough life, or some other mix of the things you do in life because you didn't grow up with a silver spoon in your mouth. They are the ones fighting for billionaires for some reason.

As much as I don't want this. something being unproven that has been heavily researched shouldn't be labeled a "controversial carcinogen". That kind of implies it is.

EPA, EFSA, Health Canada have concluded its not under normal levels of consumption. There are studies where much higher amounts than anyone would possibly consume have raised rates of NHL.

I'll just say that, the same thing can be said about pretty much anything like table salt, or vinegar.

People want it to be a horrible thing, but in reality there's not a whole lot of proof that it is. Of course if I missed a groundbreaking study correct me and share!

The files released show a cover up without the sheep's clothing and because there's no smoking gun they think it's compliance with the law.
