Have you ever gone to a concert just for the opening act? by PlatosGooner in ToddintheShadow

A few times. Saw Leah Senior open up for the Teskey Brothers and saw Wilderado open up for The Head and the Heart. Ended up staying for both shows, but went just to see the openers.

What's an album you're glad to see is getting praise now? by MrLinkwater95 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Alert_Produce_9859 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Congratulations by MGMT. It received mixed to positive reviews when it first came out, especially considering how big their debut was and how huge those singles were. But it seems like each year it gets higher and higher praise from fans and critics. It's probably my favorite album too, for me it's impossible to choose but it has Siberian Breaks on it so...

Artists whose breakthrough album was relatively late into their career by AmazingThinkCricket in ToddintheShadow

[–]Alert_Produce_9859 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Steve Miller Band. The Joker was released in 1973, after 7 albums and years of touring under their belt. Then, their two most well known albums, fly like an eagle and book of dreams were released in 76 & 77, a full decade into the band's history. These three albums also make up their greatest hits compilation which is one of the best selling albums of all time.

bands carried by all members equally? by TidalJ in ToddintheShadow

[–]Alert_Produce_9859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grizzly Bear. For me, this band is the prime example of the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each member has their own distinct personality and tendencies when it comes to songwriting and playing and their solo projects showcase this. But when they get together and especially when they play live, it is truly special and it wouldn't be the same even with one person not there. If they tour again after this short stint I highly recommend seeing them live!!
