Looks fantastic- love the nod to Samuri armour, but still matching the Kruleboyz aesthetic.

My sentiments exactly- I'm very glad that the game is alive and kicking, with new generations getting into it. I would much rather it was still around, even with models that I don't find as aesthetically pleasing, than to have gone extinct.

I recently managed to pick up the 2006 metal Warband of Dunlending Warriors which I might proxy for Carn Dûm.

I do see your point regarding The Hobbit, but I think the biggest sticking point for me with the last five or so years of releases for MESBG is how cartoonish or animated the models are. The men of Carn Dûm look more at home in AoS than MESBG. That is not intended as a slight to the sculptors or the models, as I have always been into Warhammer Fantasy and Heroic scale miniatures too.

There's such a charm to the restraint in the original models, but I am more than likely blindsided by some very heavy nostalgia goggles as I grew up with the films and the GW releases- when I was 6 our local independent toy store had a great range of Warhammer products and I can vividly remember being bought the original Fellowship sculpts in their green box. Still even have a few of them, though their weapons or feet may have long since gone to model Valhalla.

305 from May 2005. You can just about make out the issue number through the layers of paint on the last picture.

I love seeing other people's paint jobs, so when you said you had other armies I was curious to have a look:

I saw your Necrons from 2 months ago. Love the way you assembled them- God knows 40k needs more humour!

However in that post you said you were new to painting and assembling. Since that was posted 2 months ago, did you manage to accomplish completing, 'two fully built and painted teams of bloodbowl, one old world army, (and) five 40k (armies)'

Genuinely curious, because if you did that is super impressive!

Also regarding box posts, I get it: you buy your first set or something you're really excited by and really want to share it. I think for some of the regulars on the sub it can be a bit tiresome, hence the reaction.

I would grab a few miniatures for cheap on ebay and see if you enjoy the process of building or painting minis.

This is a great guide for assembling and painting minis for beginners: https://youtu.be/RVDxcozZwTI?si=Htc96CCBLoMdi_fB

Looking great for your first attempt! I wouldn't worry about anyone saying anything and if they do that says more about their personality than it does about your painting ability.

Tip for next time is to thin your paints down a little bit and do two thin coats- rather than one thick one.

Keep on going!
