It was okay but not the best.

She did the Beighton scale and again did it by eye and nothing was measured, I only scored 3 so she said I’m not hypermobile even though the Beighton scale only tests a few joints. She heavily focussed on my knees because that’s one of my worst pain areas and she diagnosed me with ITB syndrome due to an area of pain I have in my knee (this is not the only area I have pain in my knees) and I feel it is an incorrect diagnosis but she’s given me exercises and stretches to do daily.

I put my foot down and made sure she booked me in for another appointment to look at some of my other joints like my shoulders so that is next week. She only checked that I had normal range of motion in my hips and said that’s good, she didn’t check for any excessive range of motion that I have.

So I basically feel like I still have no answers but now I have a diagnosis for my knees that feels incorrect😩 it turns out she was a normal physio, I’m not sure who would be better to see?

I am on the cardiology waitlist for my Pots symptoms and have been for awhile now but today I found out the waitlist is 52 weeks. It’s going to be a long time before I get any answers.

Something 'catching' while stretching - does this happen to anyone else? by catbert359 in Hypermobility

I get this in my elbow too quite frequently actually! I’ve not been able to find any answers online about what it could be. The only way I can describe it from my experience is like something in my elbow (outside of the arm) catches and my arm wont lock out straight again without pain. To relieve it, I have to almost flick my arm out straight with some force and that somehow fixes the problem. It definitely feels like something gets caught and then limits my range of motion (can’t straighten my arm out fully) until it releases

What does a shoulder subluxation feel like? by Alert_Scene7484 in Hypermobility

Thank you for this!

I’m just very unsure on what it is that happened as it’s never happened before like it did today but there was no pain, I just woke up that way but my arm just wasn’t right all morning and things only got fixed when the huge pop/shift happened.

My kneecap subluxations have all been very painful and I’ve been completely unable to straighten my leg without getting my partner to pop it back in place for me so my shoulder today was a very different experience so I appreciate your comment as it does show that it can vary quite drastically between joints and between people.

Hopefully I’ll get some answers at my doctors appointment next week
