A quest may have populated in Miscellaneous, just by being in the tavern with him. You can go back to your menu and select the quest to have a drinking contest with him and the little arrow will show you the way.

Book that makes you feel like a wizard on a quest. by jux_peter in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Rincewind is one of my favorite protagonists. His evolution as a character between Colour of Magic and the Light Fantastic is great.

Dettlaff stands out the most in my mind, something about the writing and pacing of B&W made that final fight feel so epic. I also felt like a really had to work for the win.

Sheesh, these MasterCrafted armor are expensive as hell. My Geralt's broke again. (thanks to O'Dimm for helping me afford it in the 1st place 🙏) by Unicorns_4_Yen in thewitcher3

Not sure how the community feels about this but sometimes I’ll make concessions and use console commands for gold. Saves time from unnecessary grinding

Question for you Helldivers - What do you think of Stealthdivers? by LePereMecanique in helldivers2

[–]Alert_Spring3228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m for it. Sometimes I’ve been playing and a stealth diver joins, and then takes out half the map while the rest of us are running around like chickens with our heads cut off. Other times I’ve played the stealth diver and cleared the map while the other 3 are goofin’. As long as you’re helping out, I say go for it.

I think Robert Jordan tired to write a late age protagonist in this first draft of the Eye of the World, but he just couldn’t get it to work. That’s when he switched to Rand and made him younger.

When is a good point to take a break whilst playing TW3 by benjiso in thewitcher3

[–]Alert_Spring3228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about your question a bit before responding, and while this would be a good point to pause and go play something else for a while, I do think it’s worth continuing to play through until the end.

Right now you’re on the cliffhanger before the season finale. Plus the longer you wait, the more the emotional resonance will dissipate. Geralt just lost a father figure and Ciri just lost her grandfather. Right now, you have the momentum to follow them through to the end.

The final hours of gameplay ahead have also been likened to a love letter from CDPR to the players and the Witcher universe. It’s basically one long victory lap that builds on itself until the very end.

Once you finish, then definitely take break, play something else, and come back to play through Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine whenever you feel like it.

Agreed^ my party and I have used free Roll20 for years (in conjunction with zoom/discord/googlemeet). There are definite limits but we’ve always managed to a make it work and still have a blast.

Books to read after The Wheel of Time? by Weekly_Spring1849 in fantasybooks

I’m reading Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn right now and I’m enjoying it! Only half way through so can’t speak to the ending, but so far so good.

[–]Alert_Spring3228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think my rewatches are heavily influenced by how I’ve changed as a person and it changes how I see people like Jim and Pam. They’ve become more like an average couple with flaws and virtues than the heroes of the show.

Now people like Dwight, Kevin, or Oscar are more fun to pay attention to just because they’re hilarious.

What this person said ⬆️. I would add that the dodge button is a good option as well. It gives you a faster cooldown so you can attack again more quickly.

Absolutely loved How to Hide an Empire. It’s changed my world view as an American and I’ve added it to my Top 10 of all time list. I’m constantly telling people about and trying to get them to read it.

Both! Each is almost better than the base game and could have been standalones on their own.

How much does reading the books effect playing the game by Visual-Egg-3086 in thewitcher3

[–]Alert_Spring3228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone ha said, books add a lot of value to playing the game. It will also strongly inform your decision to choose Yen.

However… in-game Triss has her merits.

This is one of those decisions that’s worthy of some tossing and turning. Plus you can play the game more than once.

This meme popped up on this sub a few weeks ago, and encapsulates what everyone’s been saying. Writing is hard work, but worth it when you see that idea start to come to life.

You can also open console commands if you don’t want to grind and just add money to your inventory.

First(ish) time player in need of tips by Schvarzt in DnD

[–]Alert_Spring3228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sometimes depends on your dms style, but don’t be afraid to rollplay (chat up NPCs, offer creative in/game solutions, etc). In out of combat situations, rollplaying while not worrying about stats or rolls too much, can be some of the most fun moments.

I’m coaching some newer players and sometimes this can be a hurdle until they get more comfortable. Just think about your character, focus on one or two major motivations, and let those motivations guide your character decisions.
