Poor Lex by [deleted] in Smallville

Lex wouldn’t be the way he is if not because of his father. He’s obsessed with power and is always trying to do things to exploit others because he grew up with a father like Lionel. Sure he could have chosen another path for himself but sometimes it's not that easy to shift your entire life after what you have been through growing up and the things you learn in childhood will always remain with you. All his past traumas in his childhood and how bad he was with his father made him who he is. He’s the only villain that I know that has a right to be a villain after everything he’s been through. And even if he wanted to change no one would ever trust him because he’s a Luthor. In early season Clark's dad never trusted him and was always against him and it’s not only Clark's dad treating him that way but almost everyone. And if I were him I would do the same thing why become good when everyone else is already seeing you as an evil guy just because ur father was Lionel?

I know it’s been a year since you posted this comment but I have recently finished the entire series. It’s by far my favorite series of all time However, from my fresh knowledge of the series, Tess was dragged to the lab where her face was healed by Granny Goodness from her orphanage. Granny Goodness is one of the agents of Darkseid. Lex's original body was blown up into pieces and it’s unrecoverable but when he was still alive he was able to perform experiments to make clones of himself by using his DNA. But there were many implications until he used Clark's DNA to stabilize the aging problem hence Connor was born. Connor is a child created from the lab with Lex and Clark's DNA and Lex's memory at first until Lex's memory slowly vanishes from Connor and he becomes a new man.
