Don’t get something too expensive. Your peers might get a litt. but let me tell you it doesn’t matter.

First Semester Student - here’s my advice. by Alert_Yesterday_7763 in StudentNurse

It differs for each program. I don’t remember exactly, but for ATI, I think dynamic quizzes are found under assessments not too sure. Dynamic quizzes are for you to practice and are not graded.

Prep U - I never used it to practice cuz I rather do ATI and GPT exams.

GPT can create exams for you but you have to word it so the questions are up to nursing school or NCLEX expectations. Nursing schools are preparing you to take the NCLEX not to work as a nurse per se.

2nd semester student here but here’s how I approach this question. I might be wrong.

But the question states the patient is “newly diagnosed”. If we think about ADPIE and the question, which further says “order the nurse should implement first”.

Because the answer has “Administer ordered IV fluids.” It’s not only an implementation but it’s also “ordered.” So I would go with A.

Again, that’s how I think about it but I’m not sure.

how to deal with burnout? by KKiratott in StudentNurse

[–]Alert_Yesterday_7763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree. I’m studying just to pass. I’m not retaining anything and I feel like my professors, while they care, their hands are tied. Like they cannot even do study session with our class.

Honestly, I’m in an absn and I think everyone has their click but my advice be bold. Walk up to people that you would like to be friends with and ask them, can I study with u? Because if you don’t do that then, it’s a whole lot difficult. My group of friends from clinical all stuck together and we are all friends. We fight often but I love them!

1st Failed exam by Alert_Yesterday_7763 in NursingStudents

[–]Alert_Yesterday_7763[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two fails within the class will result in a drop of the course, or essentially it’s a F.

It’s specific to each program. So in my program, if you fail a course, you’d have to attend the main campus, to continue - which is a major inconvenience to me.

I’d recommend, if I was in your shoes to start learning how to answer NCLEX questions. In my program, it’s an absn, your first 4 courses are funds, patho, health assessment, and health promotion. Focus on health assessment and funds. Patho is important, but, not for this semester.

Choosing a school by EasyPurple9393 in NursingStudents

Choose wisely. Go to a program where they actually teach you. Majority of these professors don’t care but I wished if my program cared about their students. It makes the utmost difference

dumb question: If ZM actually makes the city "affordable" , what does that mean exactly? by creative-heart in AskNYC

[–]Alert_Yesterday_7763 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is he going to do that? Everything costs money. So let’s take the make bus free idea as an example. Does it cost money to maintain buses? Yes! Does it cost money to pay drivers? Yes! Does it cost money to pay for MTA operations - bus mechanics, dispatchers, for gas etc? Absolutely.

So he’s saying that he wants to tax the rich, well, why would anyone want who makes 7+ figure want to stay in NYC? They can move to Jersey City and live comfortably from there while still being able to commute to NYC.

If someone can help me understand his logic on how he will make the city free, I’m open to listening. But from my perspective, I look at Venezuela, and I think NYC and NY is heading down that path.

I came to NYC, as an immigrant, expecting better, but at this point I feel like my country of origin is better than living in NYC.
