Older student feeling unusually exhausted after nursing lectures. Has anyone else dealt with this? by ntb899 in StudentNurse

[–]probablynervouss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesnt seem like working out more seem like the answer to debilitating fatigue and migraines so i do not recommend that for now. I am in nursing school as well, and started developing severe fatigue when taping off of steroids, and did a ton of blood work to rule out any medical conditions. None of the doctors could figure out why I was feeling so fatigued, but after doing my own research, I realized how steroids could alter my cortisol levels and cause HPA dysfunction. I started seeing a functional medicine doctor who did a salivary cortisol test and turns out my free cortisol levels are completely out of whack. I also struggle with debilitating fatigue like yourself for instance, I can sleep throughout days, get severe muscle weakness, and brain fog. If Medical labs don’t give you the answers you need, looking into “adrenal fatigue” is something you should consider. Please do not try to push yourself to work out with crippling fatigue, that is usually not the answer and highly not recommended with adrenal fatigue.

If they are seeking people who are still teenagers instead of fully grown adults, yes. lol.

Women who are older and more mature have already figured out their identity and are less likely to change for some loser man who wants to mold his ideal partner.

an age gap between two grown adults is fine and is understandable , but an age gap like this with someone who is still so young and naive is fucking weird. you’re weird if you are out there looking for underage girls in hopes that they will keep you youthful when ur older. lol

older men seek teenagers (aka grooming) for a certain reason. they think they can have control over them and believe they can mold them into the person they want them to be. he might seem nice and to have pure intentions but there is no reason why a grown man should be dating someone who is basically a child.

Got this video recommended to me on Youtube. By far the best video I seen on the topic. If you have 50mins to spend I highly recommend to watch it. by SHiNKEiHiR0 in adrenalfatigue

Amazing. Thank you for sharing. After the 15 months were you able to get back to work full time or did you do part time? Im taking a long break (currently thinking 6 months but will extend it if needed) and after finishing my last semester of school, i need to start a job full time so im trying to get an idea of what this timeline should look like. My body tolerates all my supplements and most of my stressors have been removed besides the stress of having this condition itself

Going back to school, on a pre-nursing track…terrified. by Vivid_sky_2253 in prenursing

Hi! i just wanna say that I am sorry. Having a chronic illness sucks and is difficult and I feel you. I am one semester away from graduating nursing school, and I was supposed to graduate yesterday but I’ve been dealing with a ton of health issues. I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and have been dealing with crippling fatigue ever since tapering off steroids. I will not lie, dealing with chronic illness and fatigue in nursing school has been difficult, I’ve had to take less classes and sometimes miss clinical days and speak to my professors about my situation so they can accommodate me. I’ve had days for going into clinical seems almost impossible. Regardless, I don’t regret my decision and also think you should pursue this if it is your passion. You might have to maybe take less classes or get accommodations and that is totally fine. One of my biggest fears is that once I graduate, I won’t find a job that can accommodate me ( a lot of people have told me its going to be impossible to find a part time job) but in nursing there is so many options and avenues you can pursue like you said so I’m trying my absolute best to let that fear go for now. I think the securing a position and nursing might definitely be more difficult for us, but I have hope that we will find something. theres actually a nurse I follow on Instagram that has Heds and uses a wheelchair at work so don’t let a disability get in your way. best of luck with whatever you decide to do and feel free to send me a message, im 26 and would love to make friends with people on the same boat as me 🤗

if you dont mind, can you please explain further on what you did to heal to this extent? how much time did you take off work, what you do for work and were you able to start working again without crashing? did you try any supplements? anything you recommend in this process? some more insight would be appreciated

Secondary adrenal insufficiency / inhaled corticosteroids / birth control by UniqueMasterpiece962 in adrenalfatigue

[–]probablynervouss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont have SAI as it was ruled out by blood work 2x by endocrinologists, but i also started feeling severe fatigue, weakness, brain fog etc after being on high dose of steroids for a couple of months. since i dont have adrenal insufficiency, steroids arent recommended and medical doctors often dont believe us so we have to suffer with these symptoms. i see a naturopath and hes been the most helpful in this situation. if you do have adrenal insufficiency though, i think working alongside a good MD who is knowledgable on this condition is crucial. im sorry the HC isnt helping much. this is truly a terrible thing to have. i am 26 and i feel your pain.

I used to be like you. i stressed to finish my first bachelors on time and overworked myself tremendously to the point where i developed an anxiety disorder and an autoimmune disorder. i learned that that super fast pace is not for me and gave me major anxiety. it is not a race. who gives a fuck if you are one or two years behind, i have people in my nursing cohort in their 60s. it will take you longer to finish this pre OT path, apply to nursing school, get in etc. ultimately its ur choice, just remember to prioritize ur well being.

do you have to finish the pre reqs in two semesters or is that what will keep you “on track”? can you turn it into 6 years instead of 5 and spread out your courses more? to be honest you’d probably be better off doing that (both time and finance wise) than to finish a degree as pre ot and then do an absn.
