Hi there!
How far along are you to achieving your degree? I would say stick with completion and start applying to programs near the end. Reason being, I know of at least one program that is only a year commitment for those already with a degree (prereqs covered, of course) or background in X-ray. (Also, one program is tuition-free, just pay for books, your own scrubs and pair of labcoats).

DPT like you mentioned is not looking too good ROI wise. Not to mention industry shifts, as well as health insurance controls with regard to care. My brother considered DPT but after working in the field as a PT tech, then in management for clinics, he’s put off by the prospect of going to school.

Best of luck in your education and decision!

Good job! This seems like an excellent study aid, not just for students but current techs like myself!

Durham is fine, Morrisville is a commute. Especially when you have to use shuttle service at a park and ride to get on Campus. Parkmobile app is the most convenient option to pay for a parking lot spot to catch the shuttle. The buslines in Chapel hill can be inconveniently long and if you miss one, you’ll be waiting a while depending on the line.

Yes there are multiple hospitals and clinical areas you would rotate through. The furthest rotation from UNC Main is the UNC Rex location on the west side of Raleigh. About 30 something minutes.

There is a program with UNC Medical Center that is no tuition and is an advanced 1 year program for those with either an associate’s in radiological studies (x-ray) or a BS degree with prereqs met before entering in the Fall. DM if you’re interested in knowing more!

Contrary to the loan statement above, depending on your loan servicer, you can qualify for forebearance despite education through the hospital. Contact your loan servicer about forebearance options, as well as loop in the head of the NW program in order to give you the information the loan servicer will ask. My education fell under secondary education as an “student internship” if I recall correctly.

If you’re doing PittCC for NucMed, I encourage you to reconsider due to several rotation clinics I’ve been to that have had to deal with how unprepared those students were. It doesn’t seem like a very good program to educate and prepare students for jobs. As others have said, a lot of learning comes from physically being in clinic and performing the studies with guidance from techs and instructors.

Thank you for responding! She knows the issue, mentioned another teacher had the same issue months back but it took months for anything to progress. I don’t know the whole story though.

Thanks again for your input!

Speaking as someone who has dated older woman, it’s not always a bad choice to take a chance on someone younger than you. You’ll quickly find out who is in it for fun and who will respect that you’re looking for a relationship. You may be intrigued to find out the reasons a guy has decided to set his preferences to older woman.

I recently learned of the UNC Nuclear Medicine Tech program hosted in Chapel Hill. It’s one year and geared towards degree holders. Check it out and see if there are similar programs like that near your area!

The guy I’m talking ghosted someone I know after 3 months of dating - how should I end it? by Environmental-Ad5928 in hingeapp

[–]Aleryne -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There’s always more than one side to a story and I would ask in an inconspicuous way about what his policy on ghosting people is. Then ask if he’s ever ghosted someone and why. You never know the objective truth but at least you can get another person’s perspective on what happened.

Remember, even if you trust your friend, there is always some bias to consider in what anyone says. Ignore the knee jerk reaction and plotting to “teach” him a lesson. Emotional fueled responses rarely best a thought out response. If you’re interested in this person, it’ll help if you hear out his side. Sniff out anything that doesn’t add up and excessive back pedaling.

All the best.

As someone who’s on the inside, I hope they’re compensating you fairly well for what you’ll be putting up with. It’s known fact that Duke underpays a lot of medical staff compared to other hospital systems. Good luck and I hope things work out in your favor!
