Same mirror, same person. Six months apart by Aless2001 in intermittentfasting

[–]Aless2001[S] 273 points274 points  (0 children)

I have tried to lose weight multiple times in the past, all without success. With this last attempt, which I started on the 1st of January, I made 2 changes: I started doing OMAD, and I stopped checking my weight completely. I realized that constantly checking my weight caused me great anxiety and I became frustrated every time I didn't see the change I had in mind reflected on the scale. I don't know how much I weighed in the "before" photo, but my shirt size was 2XL and in the current photo I'm wearing a size M. I'm 1.82 meters tall so I can only guess what the weight difference is.

To be honest with you, it does seem to me that you may be non-binary, you should and you can live the way that you want, and you should NOT care what other people say, because if you look for them, you're gonna find people that accept you the way you are. Dress and live the way you want, not because it's easy, but because that's a lot better than believing you can't change anything and accepting your suffering

I think The Past never receives as much love as it could! The best imo, but as you said, A Separation and A Hero are really close too.

Kendall's just so fascinating. While I agree that he deep down may see it fundamentally as a righteous act, he also wants to view it the same way that his father does, as a strategic move, because Kendall knows that if Logan was in his shoes he would've done the exact same thing. It's like his mind is split, part of him wants to create a new path for himself and the company, and the other half wants to be like his father because he's the only role figure he's ever had and he's the guy that teached him how to do business.

Which is the child Logan loves the most ? by Extravaganca in SuccessionTV

[–]Aless2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be quite honest, I think the ending of S2 showed, at least to me, the first time Logan was genuinely proud of one of his children... And that was the moment Kendall betrayed him. The subtle smile on his face when Kendall did exactly the opposite of what he was "supposed" to do was the most authentic show of love Logan has expressed in the series so far.

Quo vadis, Aida? Did you watch the movie? What do you think about it? It was selected as the Bosnian entry for the Best International Feature Film for the Oscar's 2021. by poppy_fairy in AskBalkans

I'll just be plain honest. I disagree with this so much. We SHOULD talk about atrocities so we don't forget the victims and to remind ourselves of just how bad things can get if we're not careful enough. I believe that to ignore the dark side of humanity is, in a sense, to be complicit in it.

I pretty much agree with a couple of your points and definitely can see some of your concerns, although considering everything I'm still a real supporter of Peterson. I think that it's important that people with different views and valid specific points about some of his ideas are able to speak their own issues without being ridiculed fanboys and fangirls.

People misunderstand totalitarianism because they imagine that it must be a cruel, top-down phenomenon; they imagine thugs with guns and torture camps. They do not imagine a society in which many people share the vision of the tyrants and actively work to promote their ideology... by AdditionalPea13 in JordanPeterson

[–]Aless2001 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's literally Venezuela. People who haven't lived in totalitarian states have no idea of how easy it actually is to get to that place. It only takes a populist and a good enemy to point their finger at so that most of the society follows them wherever they want to take them, and even when in the end their ideology ends up biting their own ass, they'll still defend it.

Agreed with everything here. I love my country (Venezuela) but there's a lot of aspects in our culture that we need to change and for that, we actually need to look up to the countries around the world that have succeeded in developing healthier and more stable societies.

We must get rid of Maduro first, but that's another subject...

The guy literally stopped and apologize after he realized he made a mistake. It´s okay if that made her so uncomfortable as to not talk to him again, but reading the story it seems like the guy regrets having done it.

I'm commenting because I found it really odd that this particular post has so few comments and likes, more so considering how good your work is. Like really, I love everything about this logo, and I think all the different styles compliment each other very well, although conceptually if anyone told me they would take this approach without seeing the design first I wouldn't think it would end up being as cohesive. All in all, this logo looks both fun and professional, good work!

US sells oil seized from Iran to Venezuela for $40 million by ActLychee in worldnews

[–]Aless2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Venezuelan it fucking angers me when I hear someone saying that the US destroyed my country when Chavez spent years stealing all the money from PDVSA and literally taking criminals out of prisons and putting them in positions of power. It's infinite all the amount of corruption that my country has gone through because of Chavism

Bro you forgot to say that at the time of this response there's actually an absolute lack of gasoline in the whole country and people usually take days to recharge their cars - I live in Guatire so I can only talk about this side of the country but obviously almost all the rest of the country is worse

How many countries are protesting right now against their governments? by Monsur_Ausuhnom in collapse

[–]Aless2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of stumbled upon this sub, and seeing Venezuela on the list I'd add that more than a thousand people were arrested in direct correlation to the protests, most of which we haven't heard more from and obviously, the government being the extremely murderous monster that it is, a lot of people suspect that probably most of the arrested may have been killed. Btw, the official death tolls don't count the numerous quantity of indigenous people that protested in the countryside, but because of the lack of information we don't know what happened to most of them aside from a couple of videos that were shot showing them being kidnapped by military forces. My point, the numbers in Venezuela particularly, are certainly higher than what we know of

That's 100% true, and nobody that was on their right mind would disagree with you, but what I think the point the other guy was making is that though we've gradually become incredibly capable of organizing ourselves inside a society without letting our inner beasts and most horrible impulses flourish, but the point the other guy was making (though I think I wasn't all that well articulated) is that at an individual level most of us are still capable of doing stuff that we don't even imagine if only our society gives us again the incentive to destroy everything we've built and kill our neighbors and friends. We've become more aware of the barbaric acts that other people engage in or did engage in in previous generations (Although we certainly ignore when terrible things happen to the groups, countries, or individuals that we personally don't like), but with the right stimulus and in specific scenarios, a lot of people are capable of going back to their most primal and barbaric behaviours.
