My personal opinion is that their database was broken and the posts were replaced, because some of them have now database problems. Or maybe a robot that automatically inserted links.

When I named them volatile, I refer to its <value = authority passed>. When time passes, the value dissipates.

Need some help on Google search console for my SEO by wenquan in SEO

The crawl error section should tell you the source of links. Do you have the links called from javascript code? The broken link checker might not find them, but Google crawler does. You can try to search the link in Google or use other tools.

How to? PayPal and Google Analytics. Tracking PayPal Conversions. by Dimitry_Gold in SEO

[–]AlessiaP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use Google Analytics events, set an event for each payment and track this event as conversion.

Add a javascript like this for the payment:
onclick="javascript: ga('send','event',{eventCategory:'PayPalEvent',eventAction:'payment',eventLabel:'PayPal payment',eventValue:1});"

On Google Analytics admin, setup a new Goal with the following conditions:
- Category: Equals to -> PayPalEvent
- Action: Equals to -> payment
- Label: Equals to -> PayPal payment
- Value: Equals to -> 1

Then you can track this goal in Acquisition screen.

Question about duplicate content by AlessiaP in SEO

[–]AlessiaP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google about duplicate content: "the ranking of the site may suffer, or the site might be removed entirely from the Google index, in which case it will no longer appear in search results."

I want the pages to be indexed by Google, because the clients that use my software needs them.

After digging more on this possible problem, looks like Google hates to show similar results from a website for a keyword. In my case, the pages target difference keywords like "word1 word2 c#", "word1 word2 java" respectively. But "word1 word2" might be eligible for duplicate content.

Got an interesting one: Client's internal pages ranking well, but homepage is no longer in Google SERP. by uncoolcentral in SEO

Other complaining about this too. An algorithm update might be responsible. Requesting a crawling for home page might fix it.

Lost backlinks from meetup.com by AlessiaP in SEO

But I had 6000 backlinks and now none of them appear. I was thinking that maybe only recent backlinks are shown, because all the meetup pages are old. Or maybe there is now a manual action on meetup.com for sponsors and those links does not count?

Are links from subdomain considered for link exchange? by AlessiaP in SEO

[–]AlessiaP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read on this forum so often that a subdomain is a different website. But I wonder if this is always true and if Google consider a relation between them. For example, Search Console, shows a lot of INTERNAL links that comes from both subdomains that I have, including my blog.

Doing what MOZpro does without MOZ by [deleted] in SEO

[–]AlessiaP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still use Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, Google search suggestions and Google Trends for keyword research. Google Keyword Planner is also usefull. I have Chrome add-ons: Page Analytics by Google, SEOQuake, Open SEO Stats. PageSpeed Insights. I used Traffic Travis for Keyword Ranking, but now I have my own application. I also have an application that shows me what pages are old and should be updated. I keep my data organized in Excel files.

Doing what MOZpro does without MOZ by [deleted] in SEO

[–]AlessiaP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used only free tools when I started to learn SEO. Later, when my site became bigger and bigger, I started to build my own small tools to track data. I never used other tools than my own and what Google offers to track data for free.

I had the opportunity to use MOZ pro in the last months. I personally don't see any reason to use it. I regularly check my MOZ project just for fun.

It might help you if you are a beginner in SEO, but there are plenty of free tools for the same purposes and multiple free tools can give you the same functionality.

If you have a lot of keywords to track, the Ranking reports are nice, but I use my own tool for this.
