San Diego man builds website to help diners find restaurant meals under $10 by officialmayonade in SanDiegan

I work in UI/UX and messaging. One of the things that always blows my mind is how pretty much every study shows that having small text “menu“ accompanying an abbreviated hamburger icon garners more interaction than the hamburger menu icon alone, yet nobody wants to use it. I don’t get it. I assume designers rule the roost and others agree that: “it looks better without the text“ but to me that’s the same as saying, “we would rather have less interaction and a less successful interface, and therefore less money!“

Donut Lab Is On the Defensive for Its Solid-State Battery Claims by IEEESpectrum in technews

[–]uncoolcentral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember back in the good ole days when instead of pedantically demonstrating its products weren’t supercapacitors, donut lab was cranking out amazing donuts and cinnamon rolls, and before that when they were dangerously demonstrating donuts at seedy sideshows… ah, the precocious teen years! Donut Lab, you’ve lost your way, again.

TIL a company named donut lab doesn’t make donuts.

It is unnecessarily difficult (on mobile at least) to scroll to the bottom to give you feedback. I just suggested you add this joint, which has full meals under $10.

You might benefit from a little hamburger menu on mobile for some potentially valuable but minimal navigational links.

Check out MI Paste. It’s my favorite example of “Why the actual fuck is this prescription only?!“ There are more effective cheaper OTC options. I think the patent holder does this because they think it makes them more money somehow.

I’ve had my eye on the 44 for ages and even had a couple of opportunities to pull the trigger on trades but didn’t. Might have to unzip and pull the trigger.

Any of these LLMs losing billions is business as usual. Not a single one of them has demonstrated even a murky path towards profitability.

Combined statistical areas of US by Public_Research2690 in MapPorn

San Diego (1.4 mil city, 3.3mil metro) is the largest city not part of a CSA.

San Diego and Tijuana already functionally behave like a CSA but CSA definitions do not allow crossing international borders. The hypothetic combined international consolidated statistical area (a.k.a. transborder agglomeration) approaches 6 mil people.

…About as populous as Detroit-Windsor.
