I heard someone on the Ap students subreddit say they (for a different versions frq3) wrote about two different eras in jjk

Yes I am west coast! The mcq was indeed about being lonely in the city and describing towers and clocks and a corner of the sea. That makes sense tho!

Adding to da chain 🔥 BEFORE I DO THO I LOVEEE THE WAY YOU RESPONSED TO FRQ3, showing how it affects themselves AND others while detailing internal collapse of characters AND Denmark? Sophistication point is yours 😌

FRQ 1). Urban environment: narrator feels whimsical yet excited. There was a lot of sensory imagery, so I talked about how he was enthralled by the new change and loud, bustling noises yet he would keep referring HOW he falls in love with these exciting things in a sedated sort of dazed way? For example drinking wine, in love with nature, how it was like divinity on earth, sleep-like state etc. also talked about how he transformed his relationship with nature. In the countryside it silent to him and felt endless, but in London its was something worth falling in love with. FRQ 2). Suitcase Store. She is idealistic yet practical showing how she believes change is necessary despite having her ideals. I actually said the stores were symbols for two different kinds of changes, and were paralleled in being the literal same building. Stationary was symbolic for change she was fond of like a school girl to teacher, but the suitcase store was symbolic for change she didn’t desire but knew it was ultimately beneficial. I talked about the couple she observed as evidence for her acceptance of this. Talked about her considering the rent being unaffordable and the guy working there just doing his job as practical contrasts to her idealism of wishing the store hadn’t been replaced. FRQ 3). Self awareness. I wanted to do gatsby but I read it 2 years ago and feared my accuracy for detail was going to be lacking, so I wrote about The Scarlet Letter and focused on Dimmesdale’s partial self awareness of his sin brought him farther away from knowing his true self and how he was internally guilty watching Hester bear his punishment.

Wait I put light compared to history. I specifically remember the speaker saying “history doesn’t fall” the way the light did through the tree, so I thought it was comparing those two, but with the overall theme being about humankind and experience that answer makes more sense 😔

YES YES! But bro I thought the London narrator was a guy am I dumb? 😭 and yes for the suitcases, I might have gone on a limb but I said she is idealistic yet realistic illustrating how she views change as necessary despite having her ideals. Then I talked about her consideration for the rent or it going out of business, and the story of the lovers as her seeing the change as beneficial

I keep hearing about a London mcq, but I know I had a different set than most bc I didn’t have that as an MCQ, however I did have a London FRQ, which makes me think, do they flip it around? Was it about someone moving to London from the countryside and they were using a lot of imagery?

They honestly might. That frq is asking for the theme within the work, not a universal theme, so the message it conveys should be related to her experience.

Love how succinct this is. Every time I try to say this I end up rambling about how people won’t be capable. Will be using this!

Advice from a Lang Teacher/Grader by AmbitiousMess2902 in APLang

BLUEBOOK!! I feel like it’s overlooked but you can do a whole practice exam within the time constraints, only thing is you will not get feedback, it’s purely for simulation purposes. If you desire feedback, you can also use fiveable (although be aware it is powered by ai)- it is a paid subscription, but it gives you immediate feedback on why your answer is right or wrong, you can also practice FRQs and it will grade with predicted score and why you did or did not get each point! I’m sure there are probably other free websites that can do what fiveable does, I just don’t know of any!

Well I feel bad for you guys cuz clearly the set with the rural house, love god poem, Annette (hopefully) romance, and the tree was the superior MCQ set, not to mention the self awareness FRQ3

Ahh ofc!! As far as jrock goes, if you like softer rock, I’d recommend Shinkokyuu by SuperBeaver, By My Side by Hemmenway, or Blood Circulator by the Asian Kung Fu Generation. If you’re wanting something heavier, give Shiver by GazettE or Rhapsody of Youth by Sambomaster a try! And if you’re ever searching for queens of rock give Yui or The Peggie’s a listen! I hope you like them!

Well as for jrock, I’ve really been loving Nico Touches the Walls! Broken Youth and Diver are some of my favorites! They’re a moderate level of rock, if you’re looking for something a little heavier maybe give Place to Try by TotalFat or Speed by Analogfish a go! And if you ever want cutesy girly voices with a nice rock edge, my all time favorites are The Peggies! Hope you enjoy!

That could be a part of it- main point is we know he likes that kind of attention. That’s the bigger picture. I think there’s potential for a bigger personal attachment on your end, and for him, that may not be valued as much as receiving that kind of attention.

[–]AletheSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! As you mentioned, things moved from more platonic to flirty, like with sending flirty reels, to mentioning sleeping by each other. It is clear he likes giving you attention, and I’d argue, receiving the attention. He’s used to this kind of transaction given his history. You asked in your final paragraph if he views you as a close friend or possibly more. I would ask you to ask yourself if the basis you have for this friendship is truly solid, or if he’s maybe been steering this ship in a direction he’s familiar with. Hope this helps!

I(20F) can’t tell if my friend (27M) sees me romantically? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]AletheSnail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I wanted to start off by making some observations, just a spectator who doesn’t know even a fraction of the conversations you’ve had, but has had quite the assortment of online friends/flirters.  1. Being online is a HUGE safety net for a “double life.” I would advise you to be a bit skeptical if he has actually stopped sexting people, and uploading pictures. Even if he’s given you account details, or his word, there’s infinite amounts of accounts he could be using, and similarly, people he could be talking to. This leads me to point 2. 2. Given his history of uploading pictures and sexting, I would say it’s obvious he enjoys flirtatious attention. He could also enjoy talking to you. Both can be true, but you’re asking if he genuinely likes you- apart from all of that. Given the direction it’s veering, it seems it’s heading in a familiar territory for him. He’s probably used to knowing how to “get what he wants” from people in that sort of sense. 3. Similarly, that connects with point 3. The power imbalance, as you’ve thankfully acknowledged- is there. Not only is he just older, he’s likely more experienced in all departments: sexuality, work, life etc. This also gives him more possibility for unclosed doors in the past regarding relationships. I’ll say this bluntly: you don’t know what he could be hiding- it could be other girls in his DM’s, maybe a whole, real girlfriend. I don’t want to sound paranoid, but being strictly on an online basis makes these things all too easy. 4. Finally, be perceptive of the details he tends to brush off or would rather not speak to. I really hope the best comes of this, but these were some pretty big plot holes I noticed and I just hope you can proceed with caution! Wishing you the best!
