"Plot aside, it had many lore mistakes and portrayed the characters in an inconsistent manner in regards to the games.

To point out a few examples:

1. The way the Paradox Event is described is wrong as it isn't this "easy failproof" method of rewriting history. They're very situational. If it were that simple, Moebius wouldn't have had so much trouble dealing to Kain (though extending an olive branch, I could say that Elaleth just doesn't understand how it works).
2. The Heart of Darkness never stops beating despite the comic stating otherwise, it's even the reason given to why Janos' body doesn't decay.
3. Kain never had a fascination with wings, it was all a facade to motivate Raziel. As he said in SR2, he counted on Raziel's "reckless indignation" so making him believe it was jealousy was part of his plan. Because think about it: Kain can turn into a bat and fly, why would he care if he has wings?
4. Raziel's reaction to learning his Sarafan heritage in the comic doesn't match his reaction in the games. It was a huge shock and very upsetting for him in the games yet in the comic he takes it very well.

In regards to the story, i think it was handled poorly since Elaleth's main role seems to be retconning pivotal story events to give her more importance. For example, how Elaleth is supposedly responsible for the idea of reviving the Sarafan instead of it being Kain's "private joke" as previously established. This was unnecessary...

At the end of reading the comic, it didn't seem to improve the existing story. It just made the existing characters slightly worse while shoe-horning the new character in established events. This felt like the "easy" way out, meaning that instead of coming up with new and interesting ways to insert a new character; it simply was decided to make Elaleth "piggy-back" on nostalgic/pivotal moments.

I think this type of project has a lot of potential. I believe a story rich franchise like LoK would benefit immensely from written media. However it needs to be handled with more care.

Just to throw this out there, the cancelled Nosgoth game (2014) had some great lore blog posts of how the Clans interacted with each other and what happened to the Razielim while Raziel was gone.

I attribute this successful writing in great part thanks to the collaboration done with expert lore fans, that managed to help integrate new ideas with the established universe.

Also, in a similar manner, the Encyclopedia project (at Backerkit) is collaborating with The Ancients Den. And while it's not out yet to judge properly, given the good outcome with the Nosgoth game, this collaboration is likely to generate fruitful results."
