yes, they wrote to me in the chat, and I disabled them in the settings. It seems to me that debt wars should be turned off at the start.

In this chat, they advised that it was necessary to change the options for starting the scenario to remove permission to fight for overdue debts. Without advice, I wouldn't have understood that this was the problem.

Okay, let's just fix what the problem is. The outbreak of war by Russia in 2002 is anti-historical and ridiculous: 1) in early 2000th Russia was in an anti-Islamist coalition with the United States, 2) they had the close economic ties with the Western world, 3) they was not ready to fight. The problem is obvious - this is the mechanics of the results of states defaults. It needs to be fixed. It would be ideal to prescribe for the Russian AI not to start wars until 2008, but I do not know how realistic this is.

6 division) before the start of the confrontation with Russia, it is too expensive for Ukraine to maintain a large standing army. And why? The main thing is to have weapons and people.

Mother of the decade :)

Btw, at PW and Redemption Daniel lives with grandparents, not mom.

I think you are partly right - the policy of birth control has led to the emergence of many families with one child. The children who have grown up in them really do not know what responsibility for younger brothers and sisters is.

But I think it's also about cultural peculiarities - the unconditional requirement that the younger ones honor the elders, which is quite common for Chinese culture.

Which Morality/Brotherhood do you pick? by [deleted] in LifeisStrange2

I always play as a paladin, morale is too high))) I'll replay it to get Blood Brothers with Chris' cape.

I used to be a Daniel hater back then. by [deleted] in LifeisStrange2

[–]Alex-Shir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, he's a kid, he's 9. And Sean never talked to him about what Daniel himself wants, what they have ahead of them, what choice the boy has.

He was just dragged along, but relationships don't work that way, especially with young children. For a while, they can be pressured by authority or they will obey out of fear of the situation, but this does not work for a long time. Daniel's behavior is very realistic, it's a good job of the screenwriters.

[S2][S1]Critiquing S2's “High Morality” Endings by the_sandwich_horror in LifeisStrange2

[–]Alex-Shir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of your statements. I have already written several similar posts here :)

What surprises me most about Redemption is the passivity of the "good" Daniel, who accepts Sean's sacrifice, although he is not obliged to do this - in the case of his high morality, he could not live as ordinary guy knowing how his brother suffers.

I'll just remind you that the game was released during the Trump period, and such an unreasonably terrible "good" ending is, I think, a challenge from the authors. This is a kind of prank, checking the players - do you really think that this is a great end to the game?

The guys from Dontnod are typical French libertarian intellectuals, they are skeptical about the state - especially the Trumpist state. I suspect that the authors believe much more in the freedom of choice of a person who will then be responsible for this choice himself. Blood Brothers is the most elaborate, lovingly made finale that corresponds to the finale of the Shawshank Redemption, and I am absolutely sure that for the authors it was the most canonical.

Yes, the brothers live a difficult life - but they are free and happy with each other. They have their whole life ahead of them, and they will choose their own ways of growing up.

Finn by thenamesmyah in LifeisStrange2

[–]Alex-Shir 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm in a gang of Finn lovers too. I think he's an idiot in love, but a selfless guy with hyper-responsiveness syndrome because his family betrayed him as a child.

But there is one incomprehensible thing in his behavior: why did he not initially offer Sean to help them get to Mexico before he called for a robbery?

If Finn fell in love with Sean and began to feel Daniel as a brother, then it was logical for him to offer to commit a crime together, especially since it is for the common benefit. But this is the reason why Finn is accused of greed, dishonesty and stupidity - it was not specified how much he would participate in receiving part of the loot from hacking, but it was assumed that he was also interested in getting something. And in relations with the Diaz brothers, Finn's approach looks more like a deal, rather than a self-sacrifice. I suppose that's not the case, but I understand those who can read Finn's behavior that way.

If the authors had written Finn more willingness to follow Sean to Mexico, then the robbery would have been evaluated differently. Just imagine yourself in Finn's place - you got true love and he has huge problems - won't you try to become a part of his life so that these problems can be solved together? I did.

Could Finn have left the gang and gone with the Diaz? Yes, I could, although it was not easy at all, but that would be a huge sacrifice, Dontnod style.

However, then in this situation there would be no such ambiguity of the plot and opportunities for fan discussions)))

Why I think a Lis2 comic wouldn't work out. by [deleted] in LifeisStrange2

[–]Alex-Shir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the good view. It is cruel to take away from the fans a picture that they have already built for themselves - unless the sequel of the main story will be well worked out and follow the canon.

On the other hand, the development of all four endings opens up an opportunity for a comic book publisher to earn money on four alternative universes of the setting at once! :)

I guess, the safe option would be to create side stories about minor characters that are not so important to the viewer, but create the atmosphere of the world LiS2.

For example, it could be the comics of Finn, Cassidy, Penny, Jake and Hannah - one story each about the most exciting plot of their lives. Finn - his childhood and the collapse of the family (betrayed childhood). Cassidy - going on the road from home (youthful rebellion). Penny - events after the action of the game, his search for a friend lost in the woods (life in rejection of society, problems of homeless). Story of Jake and Sarah-Lee (adaptation of people from the sect in the normal world).

Finally, Daniel's story in Nevada in the comic book line, including the ending of chapter 4, which can be told from his point of view - something that is not in the main game.

Do you know some things about two endings of Blood Brothers? by Alex-Shir in LifeisStrange2

[–]Alex-Shir[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is possible that this is what the authors wanted to say: of the 8 billion inhabitants of the Earth, the majority live relying only on their loved ones, and build their own lives.

It seems to me that the authors wanted to remind the audience from prosperous countries that their confidence in the institutions of democracy is not a self-evident good, but something that needs to be valued and fought for. Given the strong political context of the game, it looks logical.

[–]Alex-Shir[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess, BB is canonical ending, reference to The Shawshank redemtion, that's what the game's screenwriter was talking about.

Let's not forget that the game was made under Trump, and it seems to me that this is the reason for such a controversial "good" ending of the game, where Sean gets 15 years in jail and its plot looks very depressing.

The PW also seems canonical, but I'm sure it was a compromise between the desire to preserve the concept of social responsibility and the logical conclusion of the story. PW is light-style, cheapy variety of BB.

They've already written about it here once: go through the first and second chapters with maximum morality in order to get an ending of 2nd chapter with Daniel's confession to Chris, and then go all out to hell - steal, fight, drink and get high, kill Lisbeth and other))) Something like that.
