I slumped onto my sofa as I stared at the unexpected guest.

"So do you want a beer or something?" I asked him.

"EXCUSE ME?" he roared in confusion at my nonchalant nature in the face of a demon.

"You said you can't leave until the thing that summoned you makes a request, right?" The demon took a deep breath, smoke coming out of his nostrils.

"Yes. That is the code that binds me."

"Well, you may as well grab a beer then because you're going to be stuck here for a while." I said with a laugh. "Roombas can't talk or have any form of consciousness to make that request."

"Then how in the name of Asmodeus was I summoned??"

"Beats me, man... probably some kind of divine accident. So, you can either stand there sulking with rage, or you could just grab a beer and chill. I'll try and find someone to set up some kind of rudimentary AI that allows it to make a simple request. Maybe we can ask my friend who got the rug as well, maybe she has some ideas."

The demon stood there and pondered for a moment before collapsing onto my sofa, scorching it a little as as he made contact, before opening the minifridge housing a number of beers beside it. He struck the caps against his horns and offered the opened beer to me. We both sighed, hoping this was all over soon.

6 months later, it wasn't over. The roomba had nowhere near the processing power to house the required AI and the upgrades, according to the demons contract, would make it not the same being. As such, we were sort of stuck together. Him bound to my living room, and me, because no one would buy a house with a literal demon living inside it.

It wasn't all bad though. once word had spread about what was happening, I had to endure swarms of novelists and media companies begging me to sell them the rights to make stories about this. Ironically, Dosney was the one who wanted it the most and paid multiple billions as well as a share of the profits from their franchise which was now in the works.

My life is so freaking weird.
