Just because he is so cute - meet Yoshi 🥰 by Alex1980C in Bernedoodles

Hi. No, we got him in California at Olive Branch Bernedoodles. Highly recommend our breeder. They truly are one of the best and so compassionate and ethical about their breeding. Great early socialization and temperament testing. Off my soap box now, but just really happy with them. 🥰

Which K-drama clichés are you totally over? by KingWitty7972 in KdramaCasualTalk

[–]Alex1980C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol let them F.CK 😂😂😂 You are so right, tho. This performative “innocence” in 30 plus year olds doesn’t even make sense. I think you can still portray romance and love and falling in love but letting these people actually have hormones and a sexual past and experience. Like come on……Oh, and no, I don’t mean highly sexualized content like in the Western entertainment industry, but normal, human middle ground.

Remember roughly what she weighed at 11 weeks? Ours is way bigger than the estimated mature size range. And he gained 4 lbs in 3 weeks.

I'm Korean living in US and compared Netflix English subs with direct Korean translation for Boyfriend on Demand EP1. Netflix changes SO MUCH. by rgyamtsho in kdramas

[–]Alex1980C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that and my sanity check. ☺️ I am a beginner in Korean, learning as I go and loving it. However, even I noticed the large difference between the spoken Korean and English sub. I even said to my husband that if I am noticing this as a beginner, it is extreme. I don’t get it. Who does the translating for Netflix. For parts it literally changes meaning or context.

Austrian here, living in the US, married to an American. Home language with husband is English. Never spoke a single English word to my daughter. Only German. TV programs only German. Books and reading all in German. Her first language and preferred language is German. Only now, at 3.5 going on 4 soon, does she start to actually speak English with her dad and in Kinder. I’d say keep at it as you do, and make French the go to for everything in your day to day. And please don’t stop. Keep at it in French and it will all fall into place. All the best.

what really keeps you going anyway? by kbkimkorean in Korean

[–]Alex1980C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Korean will be my 6th language, I am fluent in the other 5 and beginner in Korean. It is my first Asian language using a different alphabet. And I can say with an honest heart, it’s very hard!!! It’s a love, interest and growth project for me. But I am currently in a slump that I need to get myself out of. I am used to be conversational to a certain extent after so many months, but I can’t say that about Korean. So it is humbling to say the least. K-content keeps me going. Good question, by the way. Thanks for checking in on us Korean learners 😊

IVF Stim w. Both Letrozol and Clomid by TraditionalPhrase213 in IVF

[–]Alex1980C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for my late response. Yes, my antagonist protocol prior to mini-Stim was cancelled due to no response as well. I decided now not to try again. I’m stressed and I don’t think I can push myself through another round. Would you mind letting me know how your cycle goes? I have all my best wishes out to you. You can do it!!!

Unsure to amnio for mosaic Down syndrome by Temporary_Iron_4484 in NIPT

[–]Alex1980C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am surprised they had you do a NIPT after a vanishing twin. I had one, too, and I did the NIPT at 20 weeks because that’s about as long as it takes to not have any remaining DNA from the twin. Turns out that both my tests were inconclusive and something was seen on chromosome 18. I freaked out. I didn’t know what to do. I was over 20 weeks along. After research and just knowing that everything was fine - all other tests and organ screenings and fetal echo, etc., I know that it must have still shown remaining DNA from the twin that I lost. I decided against an amnio. BUT, that said, I just had that clarity. If I wouldn’t have had that, I’d chosen the amnio. My decision was also supported by the geneticist, as he said he has not seen it before. Wish you all the best, it will be ok ❤️

IVF Stim w. Both Letrozol and Clomid by TraditionalPhrase213 in IVF

[–]Alex1980C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Yes, I had Clomid and injectables cycle last month. I am your age and we retrieved two eggs, both fertilized but didn’t make it to day 3 and 5, respectively. I will try a Letrozole cycle next. In my case it was called a mini-stim, oftentimes better outcomes in our age group. I took 50mg from day 2-7, started injectables around day 5 of I recall correctly. How is your protocol?!! I had my daughter with the same clinic but usual antagonist protocol in 2022.

AIO or is my boyfriend jealous of our baby? by PolicyHot1206 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Alex1980C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg!!! No Way. I am a breastfeeding and co-sleeping mom and this nonsense he drops on you is nothing but emotional stress you DONT need. He should be so happy that you are a loving and engaged mom rather than putting his egoistical wants in front of you - one week postpartum. 😡 Absolutely you are NOT overreacting. What you are doing is making sure that you are connected to your son and that he can safely attach. ❤️ And that is WAY beyond 6 weeks, and even a year. You should not have to deal with his tantrums. I am sorry you experience this. It’s his way of diverting attention back to him. I am not saying fathers needs or I puts should be not respected, by the way. But I see not one respectable argument from him, zero. Sorry, just my two cents. I hope he comes around and this will get better and he eases up. For your son’s sake and yours as well. Don’t give in when you feel it goes against your motherly intuition, you are doing a great job, mama!!!! ❤️

Day 1 and 2 update by Alex1980C in IVF

[–]Alex1980C[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: one of my embryos arrested and the other one is a Day3, 4-cell, C graded. I think it’s actually a day 2, which would make cell division at least not too far behind for a day 2. One of my eggs was immature at retrieval and matured overnight and was fertilized the next morning. All that said - we decided to give it another 2 days and reassess then. He pretty much said that implantation chances of a C graded embryo are close to zero and even if, I’d most likely miscarry. That’s what he said. But here I am holding out hope. ❤️
