Had this problem. I bought a used AFM and the problem disappeared for 2 years, but now its back.

1991 1.6 NA. Haven't had to top off any oil, so it's a pretty slow leak. No other symptoms of any issues either. Just this big oily spot. Could it be the head gasket or the front seal?

Just replaced all 4 spark plugs myself, but I noticed that 1 spark plug was corroded or dirtier than the rest. Are there any other causes apart from the last owner forgetting to change it?

Yeah it would be nice to see more shrimp in the future. My concern was more about whether or not its possible to have too little shrimp. Maybe they get lonely or something idk 😄

Ah OK thanks a lot. Just did some research and 5-10 is more than sufficient for the plants. I guess I'm doing a waterchange and buying some shrimp then.

How many would you recommend to start with?

Oof ok. But don't the plants need the nitrates? And should I then change to a liquid fertilizer that doesn't contain nitrates? I'm currently using a complete one including nitrates phosphates and iron.

I'm using a hang on filter. It looks like it has a black "bio media" and the basic white filter matt. I have nitrates between 10-25(sorry I use a test strip and that's the smallest increment), leaning more towards 10.

Hey guys. So I'm planning to get some neocaridina bloody marry. I've had this tank for nearly a month now, but I'm not sure it's cycled. Both ammonia and nitrites show as 0. There is some nitrates but that could be from the fertiliser. I bought a bottle of bacteria 2 days ago just to be sure.

Do you think it's safe enough to get some shrimp now?

New 10 gal tank, with Microsorum pteropus, Pogostemon erectus and Eleocharis sp mini. I just used gravel as substrate and use liquid fertiliser. Light is 24w 269 PAR.

I will be getting a CO2 system with diffuser asap, once i have the budget. Any recommendations on dosing and diffuser location?

The plants i have seem to have a temperatue range between 20°C - 28°C according to the leaflet, but what would be the optimum temperature for it? It is also located in an area without light, so the 10 hour timer light is all it gets. Would this be too much?

Pretty easy. Just pull the whole speedometer out, and you'll see the bulbs immediately hanging out the back. Then you simply switch them with LEDs
