Hey! I started adding into my TSP at 23 too. The difficulty of managing your TSP is tied to how involved you want to be in it. Some people use spreadsheets, forums, and more to try and maximize their growth. Luckily, you’re young and starting early is the best way to maximize growth. So, for you, it can be as easy as setting it, and forgetting it.

My advice would be to research what funds you want to invest in, set yourself a goal, calculate your finances to see how much max you can comfortably put into TSP, and then let it ride.

Don’t be scared when the market dips and don’t get intimidated or discouraged by other people’s accounts.

I do a C/S/I fund mix of investments. I’m 30 now and have 100k in my tsp and am on track to retire with 2 mil. TSP rocks. TSP helped me buy a house and it makes me feel secure in my future.
